Traditionally, they do pay for their own clothes. As do any other attendants in a wedding party.

Unless the attendant is financially unable to pay for their clothes, and the bride/groom really want them to be in the wedding party, it is perfectly acceptable for the bride/groom to discretely pay or assist paying for their clothes.

If the person declines the offered role in the wedding party, be gracious and ask if they would like to assist with the coordination or some other aspect of the wedding.

Good luck!

That is all up to you. If you can afford it it would be nice to pay for their rental. Afterall, they are doing you a favor for being in your wedding. Did I tell you how much hard work it is to be in someone's wedding? especially bride's maid. I got married 1 1/2 yrs ago and paid for all my groomsmen and bride'smaid rental and airline tickets. (we had 2 weddings). We thought it was the right thing to do and we felt great about it.

There is no set rules..... if its within your budget you could buy them, if its not they can buy there own. Most places offer the the grooms tux for free is the groomsmen buy there own. Most groomsmen expect to buy there own, so its not that big of a deal. Usually people in the wedding knows that part of the deal to purchase their own tuxes.... and in some instances the bride and groom will do it for them.... GL

Yep. My husband and I were just in weddings and we both had to pay for our attire. It depends on the bride and groom. Some have enough money to pay for everything and some don't. My bro and sis in law didn't. It is really not a big deal.

Traditionally, all wedding party members are reguired to provide their own apparel for the wedding. In some cases, the couple may help out if finances are an issue or course.

every wedding i have been involved in the attendants pay for all their own attire.. i feel its up to the bride and groom to respect that the attendants do pay for their own clothes and not to go way over board and expect that all attendants can buy the designer duds.

Unless your fiance is Bill Gates, yes. Groomsmen, bridesmaids, flower girls, ring bearers...all of them (or their parents, in the kids' cases) are responsible for providing their own clothing.

Yes, do them a favor and get a price list from several tuxedo rental shops. They can rent everything for a better price than buying, unless they are just to wear a vest, shirt, and tie. With the rentals, everything matches....Congratulations.......
