There is no way to prove what you are asking for... but when God talks to yo, you will know who it is...and there will be no doubt...It is not a common occurance... at least not comon for it to be reported... I believe God speaks to many who do not report it because what was said is not intended for others to know....
I know for certain that God has spoken to me... twice over 29 yrs and the first time i was anything but one of His followers... the second time was on the day of my Salvation... the total was ten words... the first was to tell me to "Get out you are not welcome here" when I was in a holy place I should not have been at the time... the second was as I took my first communion... "you are welcome".... I can not in any way prove to you that what I know was the voice of God was indeed God.... i am not now trying to "prove" it to you.... But if I ever again hear that voice again in this mortal life... I will do whatever He tells me to do.... Whatever it may be with out hesitation.... I care not what any may think... I have heard other voices in my life... i once was known to "drink to excess" as it were.... I saw a few things as well... never even concidered them to be from God... some may well have been form another though... And I have had contact with the forces of evil.... so I do know the difference... As dose any who is of The True Christian Faitn.... Satan can deceive....he is very good at it...but he can not carry off impersonating God...

How are you sure when your father, mother, brother, sister, son or daughter speak to you? Even over the phone, you can identify their voices. Abraham walked with God. He knew His voice.

According to the Bible, God spoke to him, and apparently he did that a lot. I would think that at that point he would be able to distingush God's voice. Plus, Abraham had faith. I know people on this board don't put a lot of stock in that but that's really what it all boils down to.

It would be strange for the devil to grant a son to a man 100 years old. It would also be strange for the devil to promise to make a great nation out of anyone for trying to be faithful to God.

"How could Abraham be sure it was God who was talking to him?"
He didn't know "god" was talking to him, it was all in his imagination. It is quite likely that the people who wrote religious scriptures had severe mental illness.
Its the year 2006 - Try announcing to the world that you are in direct communication with "god"... and see how quick you are sectioned in to a mental health hospital.

Becareful when anyone sees god, we are not that overwhelmed with all powers, I was once adviced by a Sensei, Although you see god, be careful on what your reaction, you never know if the DEVIL is playing with you.....

Because God physically spoke to Him. He heard His voice and had heard it many times before.

Unless you can actually ask the people from the Bible these questions....whatever we say is at best just a guess.
