The best way to find out their mistakes is to read the bible. It's full of humans who have made mistakes, some small, and some great mistakes. In fact, the Bible is a great teaching tool, that tells us how we do the very same things, and how to overcome them.

Noah got drunk in his tent after the flood
Abraham twice lied about his relationship with Sarah
Jacob deceived his father and stole Esau's birthright
Samson married a Philistine
David killed a man and stole his wife
Solomon worshiped idols and had 700 wives/300 concubines
Peter denied the Lord three times
James and John coveted the seat next to Christ in the kingdom

The list could go on and on. The point being, that these were all humans prone to human mistakes. If the Bible was false the mistakes of the heroes would not be displayed in such an open fashion. The Bible, though was recorded by holy men of God through the inspiration of the Holy Spirit. It has been looked after and guarded by God as His special instructions for mankind. Thus, the belief in the infallibility of the Bible even though written by sinful men.

They made all the same mistakes we do. They doubted, they rebuked, they disobeyed. Peter denied Christ 3 times. You have to remember that they were human too! I'm sure the lusted, maybe even commited harsh sins like adultery. Who knows, just because they have "apostle" in front of their name does not make them holier than thou. We were all created to sin after the fall, we were all made to doubt and question, we were all made to choose our path, WE WERE MADE HUMAN. We are not infallible but we are FORGIVEN! Praise God! So no matter what our mistakes or the apostles mistakes, we are all the same; forgiven by God.

The Disciples of Jesus Christ all made many mistakes and sinned frequently because of their doubts and unbelief. The Disciples ( regardless of what they said while He was alive ) were NOT SAVED, until they saw Christ alive and well after His resurrection, THEN and ONLY THEN, did they TRULY believe He was in fact the Son of God, then and ONLY THEN did they become Truly SAVED.

So then the question is not how many mistakes they made when they were not SAVED, but how many did they make when they were?

In His Holy and Precious Name, Jesus Christ

One cannot know the mistakes of individuals without accurate records. It is, in fact, impossible to determine whether these characters actually existed. 2000 year-old writings, by unknown authors, that have been corrupted, edited and translated are very unreliable.

You do know they didn't write about the detailed lives of these men and women right?

Since they were human I imagine they made the same mistakes we do today.

Good question...here are a couple examples...

In Galatians 2, Paul rebukes Peter...

11When Peter came to Antioch, I opposed him to his face, because he was clearly in the wrong.
12Before certain men came from James, he used to eat with the Gentiles. But when they arrived, he began to draw back and separate himself from the Gentiles because he was afraid of those who belonged to the circumcision group.
13The other Jews joined him in his hypocrisy, so that by their hypocrisy even Barnabas was led astray. (Gal 2)

And in Acts 18, Paul lost His patience...and was later told by an angel of the Lord to continue preaching to these men...

6But when the Jews opposed Paul and became abusive, he shook out his clothes in protest and said to them, "Your blood be on your own heads! I am clear of my responsibility. From now on I will go to the Gentiles." (Acts 18)

And of course Peter denied Christ three times, Paul had previously led efforts to muder Christians, they all pretty much doubted Christ had been reaised from the dead though He had told them beforehand exactly what would happen....and Jesus called Peter "Satan" to his face because he was more interested in the things of men than the things of God...

Well many biblical scholars believe that Paul was gay.

I personally don't have a problem with that but It sounds like a lot of the Christians do.

They made the same mistakes man is making right this minute. Paul of Tarsus had his problems as I have read...and ability to be objective had to be obscure.
