Some will have as few as 1-2. Some of my dogs have had 6, 7, one even had 8. I know someone whose chi had 10 pups, but they lost them all. The largest litter I had where all pups lived was 7.
Would you like to join a chihuahua group and meet other chi lovers and learn more about these wonderful dogs? Here is the link.

A chihuhua has 1 to 2 pups. If they have more than that, it is possible that they might have some kind of difformaty or health problems. If the mother knows there is something wrong with one of her pups, she will try to kill it. They know when the pups don't act right or just isn't normal. I know because a lady down the road from me had a chihuahua and she done the same thing to her pups. Be careful and watch so she don't try to kill them.

Usually two or three. Since they are so small, its rare that they would have a large litter
