Personally, i never found much symbolism or inspiration in his paintings. His style and techniques, coinciding light and depth with lots of detail and great scenic views are what made him so successful.

i worked a show he did at a University in California. The link will take you to the best work in the exhibit. and it will tell you everything you need to know about Thomas Kinkade. Sadly there is nothing more to his paintings than just pretty pictures.
you would think that someone who has so much influence in the art world might try to make a statement!

The only symbolism that I ever found in his paintings was commercialism. To me his works all look alike in style and content and are produced purely for profit and not artistic content.

sorry, but I really think it was really all about making money...his style was so milk toast, white sugar...and while I am sure that it was difficult to paint, and his abilities were substantial, I cannot even look at them...too sweet and utopian
