If the kids were on Heroin, cocain etc, and not ritilin,
it would be splashed and touted everywhere with "just say no!"
Shouldn't kids just say no to legal drugs too?
And why don't we ever hear about the early lawsuits against antidepressant manufacturers which sited a strange side effect of homicidal attacks and suicidal behavior?
I guess threat of a pharmaceutical lawsuit is more important than good journalism and the truth.....

Because those drugs are actually good for something. And if you don't believe me, then come to my house this weekend, I'll go off my Ritalin, and we'll clean the basement together. You'll see how much work gets done.

the medical field in our country..the world ...has the best protection bill ever passed...did you know that on average...a hospital has 12 wrongful deaths every year. Lots of meds are trial meds...we are the ginny pigs for pharmaceutical Co.The families are given the amount of malpractic money from the insurance and are forced into signing agreements to not talk about it. The ones you do hear ...people are mad...and they talk. When my sister was 2 years old...she was given adult medicine that messed up her stomach...she's had several surgeries to correct her problems and now on medication for the rest of her life. My mom never said anything because we were born in Louisana back in the day....and half black...she was told by a nurse(racist) that they really don't help our kind, so if she wants help then she'd best be quiet....I personally think they tried to kill her. When she got to the point of not being able to breath...my mom brought her to Seattle. They gave her two months to live, until specialist came from all over the country to save her,But if you were to look at her paper work it is filled with all types of reasons she needs these meds.

Newspapers and news programs make money from ads. Drug companies are some of the biggest advertisers in the world (much like cigarette companies used to be...hmm...). The media is loathe to bite the hand that feeds them.
