Christian Faith or Cult???

They call themselves Christian, but they deny the deity of Jesus.

That all by itself makes them a cult.
And Jesus and Satan were not brothers, either.

(Besides, I don't want a heaven that is merely another planet from which I will start another human race. That's just too creepy to me.)

There are so many responders to this question that have condemned the LDS belief solely because they believe the mistruths spread so widely through the Internet and other sources.

Why do you suppose much of the world condemns this religion? I want you think clearly on that. Satan loves people such as the ones on this board who freely accuse the LDS Church of not following Christ's teachings and claiming Joseph Smith was a charleton.

We are not brainwashed for we know exactly from where we came, why we're here, and where we're going. Heaven is not limited to just Mormons either and the temples of God and their activities are sacred, never wierd. How can anyone criticize what goes on in a temple if they've never been in one? The only way a member can enter a temple is to go through certain interviews and gain what is called a temple recommend. Not every Mormon can enter a temple.

If one would simply take the time, visit our church, and read through the Book of Mormon, a new understanding will come and reveal that we're not a cult as many believe and we freely tithe as the Lord has commanded. We're not forced in to do anything against our will, nor are we of the same sects that Warren Jeffs claims to be. He and his group, if they claim to be Mormons at all, are excommunicated.

We adamantly claim that we follow the teachings and precepts of the Lord Jesus Christ in everything we do. To claim otherwise is simply folly and ignorant.

Nevertheless, what I say here many will refuse to accept; I know that. Bear in mind that all who condemn the Mormon faith are those that can be secure in the fact that no Mormon will condemn them for their beliefs.

Ihave been a member for almost 1 year I have heard almost everything about being Mormon{good and bad} This choice I made turns out to be the best thing that has ever happened to me except My husband and children of course. I had a hard time as a baptist I am 33 and I had no idea what my purpose was here on earth, now thanks to LDS I know. I choose everything I do or do not do. The members are always there to help if I ask or they may just offer. I feel no pressure to follow or not. My family has been blessed so greatly since joining the church. I now know I came from somewhere with a purpose, It is nice to know were not wondering around down here with out rhyme or reason.

They are a christian faith, but alot of other christian sects like to say they are not. They don't technically fit the definition of a cult, but their temple stuff seems kinda wierd, so people like to call them a cult. The temple stuff is basically the same as Free Masons, it's just old rituals like the Fraternal orders of Elks and such do.

guitarpicker gave an excellent answer! I agree with him 100%.

Also, the reason most Christians don't consider us "christian" is because we believe in Christ but differently. Most Christians believe Christ and God the Father are one person. We believe Christ is the literal Son of God, not God the Father. It is sort of hard to explain...we believe Heavenly Father created our spirits (along with our Heavenly Mother of course) that Christ was one of the first spirits born or created to Him...we lived in a premortal existance where Christ AND Lucifer both presented plans to the Father of us all coming to earth. Lucifer wanted all the glory and wanted us to HAVE to make certian decisions, thus taking away our agency. Christ obviously had a better plan, all the glory be the Father's and Christ would be the sacrifice for sin. We believe everyone who has ever lived and will live on this earth CHOSE to come here and prove to our Heavenly Father we were willing to live by His teachings and become more like him. There is a song called "The Test"
Tell me friend, why are you blind?
Why doesn't He who worked the miracles send light into your eyes?
Tell me friend, if you understand, why doesn't He with power to raise the dead just make you whole again?
It would be so easy for Him.
I watch you and in sorrow question, why?
Then you, my friend, in perfect faith reply:
Didn't He say He sent us to be tested? Didn't He say the way would not be sure?
But didn't He say we could live with Him forever more, well and whole if we but patiently endure?
After the trial we will be blessed but this life is the test.
Tell me friend, I see your pain. why, when you pray in faith for healing; does the crippling thorn remain?
Help me see, if you understand,
Why doesn't He who healed the lame man come with healing in His wings?
It would be so easy for Him.
I watch you and in sorrow question,Why?
Then you,, my friend, in perfect faith reply:
Didn't He say He sent us to be tested? Didn't He say the way would not be sure?
But didn't He say we could live with Him forever more, well and whole if we but patiently endure?
After the trial we will be blessed but this life is the test.
Tell me Love, why must you die?
Why must your loved ones stand with empty arms and ask the question "why"?
Help me know, so I can go on,
How when your love and faith sustained me, can the precious gift be gone?
From the depths of sorrow I cry.
Though pains of grief within my soul arise
The whisperings of the spirit still my cries:
Didn't He say He sent us to be tested? Didn't He say the way would not be sure?
But didn't He say we could live with Him forever more, well and whole if we but patiently endure?
After the trial we will be blessed but THIS LIFE is THE TEST...

My opinion of the Lost and Deceived of Satan(LDS) was formed long befor(over a 30 yr period) before I became of The True Christian Faith... mormonism is nothing more than a satan inspired cult.... I was a target for the LDS recruters several times... I came very close to joining up with them... I read all they gave me to read, prayed as they said... listened to all they had to say... but every time I came to look at it all closely...all I could find was emptyness... there was nothing of any substance to hold on to...I started looking around on my own and all I could see was negative when I dug a bit into the past of that deception of evil... All of the information is out there on the web now for any to find... but I found much in the public library...I now note that it is difficult to find much of that in old books...they seem to have gone missing... but the library had numerouse books when I was younger about history writen by people who had been there.. and every thing was negative about mormonism...basicaly I came to the conclusion a long time ago that they were , at best deluded fools to follow such childishly amature claims as those of J.Smith and the con men who followed him... I was well aware of the ruth of evil and I clearly felt an evil in what I began to see behind mormonism... I cut them off from further attempts to recrut me... 6 1/2 yrs ago a came to God and became one of The True Christian Faith... no recruters, no missionaries, no one but God and me... God then led me to the congrigation I am no a part of... But I am not controled by any man made docrin or dogma... While I gather with like minded of The Faith in a man made building as part of a small congrigation...I am apart of The Body of The Church of which Jesus The Christ is The Head.... Only those of The Church will enter Heaven..... no one of The mormon cult has any hope of entering Heaven so long as they continue in the cult of the LDS.... but

All who come to God in The Way He proscribes will receive His free gift of Salvation.... They just have to reject the evil that has enslaved them first

No, no. Pseudo-Christian cult.
Most LDS people are sweet and moral, and make the best neighbors. But their religion is straight out of the very pit of hell. They do not know it, and have been brainwashed.

Cult.
Yes they do believe that Jesus and Satan are brothers and that one day they will have their own planet to populate. And that there are 3 levels of heaven and only Mormons go the the highest and so on. It is a Cult because it makes money off people. It actually is one of the wealthiest businesses around.

It's a made-up religion created by a scamming pedophile polygamist. To be fair, all religions are man-made and flawed. However, based on my research, LDS is one of the most ridiculous.

Even though they say they are Christian they are not because they deny esential historic Christian doctrine. Joseph Smith created this religion. Christianity came from Christ himself.
