I don't have access to a bible and was wondering if anyone had the *exact* verse that states that Humans are to be Protecters of animals.
Thanks.

Are you thinking of Universal Peace which is in the Bible? Isaiah 11:6 -8 In that day, the Wolf and the lamb will lie down together, and the leopard and goats will be at peace. Calves and fat cattle will be safe among lions, and a little child shall lead them all. The cows will graze among bears; cubs and calves will lie down together, and lions will eat grass like the cows.

As far as I know, looking through Strong's Exhaustive Concordance of the Bible, there is nothing that shows an exact verse that states humans are to protect animals.

Genesis 1 v28 says that mankind Adam was to have in subjection all the other creation. All other living creatures. This would imply a duty of care. Only green vegetation was to serve as food at that time. ( see genesis 1 v 29, 30 )
Not untiol Noah and his entourage disembarked the ark was a new arrangement in place ( see Genesis 9 v 1 - 4 )

1 Samuel 17:34-35
34 And David said unto Saul, Thy servant kept his father's sheep, and there came a lion, and a bear, and took a lamb out of the flock
35 And I went out after him, and smote him, and delivered it out of his mouth: and when he arose against me, I caught him by his beard, and smote him, and slew him."

Genesis 1:26
And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.

Dominion does not necessarily mean the right to mis-manage the natural resources, we must also be good stewards.

This one?
Gen 1::26. And he said: Let us make man to our image and likeness: and let him have dominion over the fishes of the sea, and the fowls of the air, and the beasts, and the whole earth, and every creeping creature that moveth upon the earth.

Depends upon your definition of "protector."

Man was given dominion of the animal kingdom:
