I am visiting Jerusalem in 10 days. I am Greek Orthodox Christian. I want to know if I can visit and go onto the Temple Mount. I also want to know if I can go inside the Dome of the Rock.

When I last visited Jerusalem 25 years ago, there was no problem whatsoever visiting the Dome of the Rock or the el-Asq mosque.

I need someone to kindly advise me on what I can expect. Some of the information on the internet says I can--other sites say I cannot. I need current information from someone who really knows. Thank you.

Yes, I did a month ago with other students in my program, but I'd like to stress that it's strange being there b/c the atmosphere is tense, there are things you can and cannot do, you have to dress modestly and CANNOT pray while there. The Temple Mount itself was given by Israel to Jordan's control, but you are allowed to visit. Stay a safe distance from the Dome of the Rock and Al-Asqua Mosque unless you're Muslim and know what you're doing. The second intifada was incited when Ariel Sharon visited the Temple Mount, so perhaps you'll understand why it's such a delicate area. Also, there are many reasons why some won't go up there, but if you want to see it then go, but investigate a little first.

I am a woman, and I was there last April. No one knew if I was a Jew or a Christian. I tried to get inside the Rock of the Dome, and I could not. I so did want to see it. But, I was able to go to the Temple Mount. It is open to all--------just not the Muslim holy sites.

Why would you want to do such a thing like visiting the Dome of the Rock? If you go during prayers and blend in with the crowd - no one will notice you. Good luck.

I am Jewish.

Do you think when a stranger walks into a synagogue he is stopped and asked for proof that he is Jewish?

Of course not, and it's the same for Muslims.
Just don't make the same mistake that I did when I tried to visit the Temple Mount.

I was wearing my scull cap - dead giveaway!
But even then, they were very polite and said for security sake it's best I didn't go in.

Yes--you can. I did when I went in 2003. You will go through security just the same as visiting the Wall.
Just be sure to follow the customs when going inside.

i'm effective it incredibly is going to be destroyed by capacity of God Himself. there is not any longer something to rigidity approximately. The destruction of non secular places will take place previously the Rapture. by capacity of the time of the large Tribulation, there will be no religious places.
