I got my first floater about five months ago (I'm 15), yeah it was incredibly annoying. I know you can get them at any age, but isn't that a little young? I also started seeing these wierd flashes of light, like sparks or little lightining strikes frequently, but they stopped after awhile.
Is any of this something that should concern me?

You can get floaters at any age, It sounds like an ocular migraine. Retinal detachments have many floaters and constant flickering lights, you also get blurred vision and will often have areas of vision missing like a curtain was pulled over part of it. A vitreous detachment can cause floaters also and some flashes of light, this however is harmless.
Astigmatism does not cause this (or does it have anything to do with the shape of your pupil, it is the cornea), the connections in the back of the eye do not cross over, I have never seen a patient referred to psych, and if you work in this field you should be able to properly spell Ophthalmologist!

This is not a good thing,..
This might be from Blows to the Head (were you going through Gym Class)
This might also be from problems with your eyes (like the connections between your eyes and brain getting rattled up, crossed, or loose)
This might also mean something else (like a Tumor or something si attacking your brain).
Please, tell your doctor. Although he might get you hooked up to a Psych and when you die or go blind mysteriously you will have been a Victim of modern doctors focused only on money and messing up their patients. Do not accept any Psych help (like you have a mental disorder and need pills), if Psychs are to get involved, they better be scanning your phsycial head.
Some times these things are easily corrected when you find a good doctor,.. they may give you silly exercises like rolling your head around (not on the foor,.. but while your standing up straight,.. to touch ear to shoulder and chin to chest). These Silly Exercises can be very good for you and may help correct the problem permenantly.
ADDED:
An Astigmatism would be one or both of your pupils are shaped oddly, they would not give you loaters and flashes of light, but they could open up more and let in too much light or change your range of sight (like looking at a piece of artwork that's 5 x 5 inches verse 5 inches by 3 feet or ver 10 by 12 i8nches)

All your visual phenomena are of a supernatural origin. Floaters are not bits of debris in the vitreous humor of the eye. The flashing dot, and dark spot, are caused by a spirit and are related to migraine aura (also supernatural in origin). You see refracted (bent) light because the causative spirit's body is in front of you - you can see through it - and it does tend to bend light. The visual disturbances are its attempts to get your attention. It will not hurt you. If you feel any tingling sensations, you will be feeling the spirit.

You should definately be concerned. You need to immediately go to either the opthalmologists office or straight to the emergency room. This is a serious problem. Sorry to scare you. But don't plat around with this... I have worked in this field for years...Have you told your parents? Are they concerned? Maybe they don't realize the severity of the problem. But, you may have a serious problem. Also, any pain??

I would at least go see an eye doctor for a dilated exam. Your symptoms could be a sign of a retinal tear or detachment.

Floaters, no--normal at any age.
Flashes/sparks at times other than standing up too fast I would worry about.
While these are common and usually normal, you really ARE young, and it's better to be safe than sorry!!
