It's against the law, in Manitoba anyways.
I don't know what the difference is between truck and trailer tires, but there must be one. My uncle got a ticket for not having a "trailer" tire on his 5th wheel. I think it may have something to do with the thickness of the side walls, which would prevent blowouts.
I make sure that I have the correct tires. The manufacturers must know what they are doing.
Trailer tires are not much more expensive, so why mess around with something that works.

You can use whatever tire you want as long as they are the same size as the ones you took off. You just have to make sure the weight rating is the same or better, because if you get tires with a lower weight rating you risk a blow out. You should be able to ask the place you go to, to have the tires changed should know what the weight ratings are and let you know what's best.

Yes as long as the wheel and tire will fit trailer, they could rub under load.

do not put radial tires on a trailer, because i did it once, worst thing than i did, made the trailer swirve.

yes as long as they are the same size -generaly actually work better weight dont get them as hot going down the road-guy dont just know blew alot of bias tires -get good ones not cheap crap

MINE TRAILOR CAME WITH 15 INCH WHEELS AND TIRES.....I CHANGED THEM,THEY WASNT HEAVY DUTY ENOUGH....I PUT 9.50 X 15" TRUCK TIRES ON IT IN 2003...BEST THING IVE DONE TO THE TRAILOR.....SO TO ANSWER YOU, YES-GO FOR IT.....
