I only know how cats mate by seeing the neighbors cats do it.
The smaller male is grabbing the larger kitten by the neck with his teeth and holding him down.
The vet will not fix them till they are 6 months old. They are 4 months now,
I know dogs will go through the motions of mating even if both are male. But do cats too?

I do not think the kittens are gay. I am thinking maybe the person who told me the bigger cat is male might be wrong.
They are from 2 diffrent litters.

One kitten is trying to be the "alpha cat". And yes, sex play is normal in kittens too. Even neutered tom cats will get "confused" in late winter and early spring and attempt mounting of spayed females in the same household.

As to neutering, why wait? My kitty was neutered at nine weeks of age with no ill effects.

For animals sex and mating is serious business and not "play". It sounds more like a dominance issue to me though that behavior is used when a male cat mates with a female.

The kittens are too young to have their hormones raging at four months. Fie on those vets who INSIST on waiting till six months for spaying and neutering. The Winn Feline Health Foundation did a long-term study of early spaying and neutering and found no ill effects for the cats. That is why most shelters now are fixing kittens at two months of age before they are adopted out.

Yes, cats do go through the motions too, but it sounds like your kittens are playing, part of which is deciding between them, which is the boss cat. This is natural for most social animals; dogs, cats, horses and so forth. I'd suggest talking to your local humane society to find a cat lover in your area to talk to.

positioned the muddle field in a niche the place they'd get right of entry to it easily and confirm that's one that is low adequate for them to bypass into. lots of the lined litterboxes have the type of intense step for a kitten to bypass into that they wont use it. you're able to purchase drops from a vet which you would be able to put in the muddle field which will charm to them to it. place the kitten interior the muddle field so it knows the place that's. you would be able to desire to pay interest to the kitten to learn the signs and indicators it shows whilst it has to bypass to the bathing room. Mine usually acted like they have been finding around or finding for a place to bypass. remember once you feed kittens they'll in all probability desire to bypass presently after eating in basic terms like human beings so putting them interior the field presently after would be a stable thought. With endurance and time your cat could replace into adjusted to the litterbox and use it many times. if your cat is a male and not neutered you're able to be waiting to tutor it over and spot 2 fantastically small testicles. in the event that they dont have testicles a rule of thumb is that girls rectums and vaginal section are fantastically close at the same time on the lower back end and men are added aside. If that doesnt help ask your vet to verify what you have. maximum suitable needs!

Hi Lissa...cats at any age will exhibit dominance by mounting one another. It's not uncommon to see this display irregardless of gender and generally it's always the smallest animal mounting the larger ones to prove they are not low on the hierarchy chain. As long as they are not injuring one another it's quite fine despite embarrassing at times.

Oh god, yes. Animals don't care about gender. It depends on the specific animal, some will hump, some will bite. But...yeah. Totally. Haha. I had some supergay cats....Ollie would bite Whimbley, then lick him, then bite, then lick. So weird.
