Animals don't have phobia's. A phobia is an irrational fear. An animal may and should have a rational fear of an enclosed space, such as fear of the unknown, why are they stuck there now? But an IRRATIONAL fear? No, they don't have the brain capacity for it. Most of their response are learned behaviors, such as someone lunging at them and pulling back, gives them a flight response when someone comes near, etc. But all of these responses are again, learned.

The above website is a list of animals that learned phobias from being hit with cars, or fear of heights, etc.

The zoo animals especially. The small areas they have for elephants and rhinos is disgusting. Also the poor giraffes having to hit their heads on the top of the doors! They must get depressed if they've had the wide open spaces of the African plains.

Not really... Animals in cages, for example, generally feel comforted by the fact nothing can get to them. I had a dog who loved his cage. I hardly ever bothered to close it but he was perfectly content when I did! It's almost like a comfort zone. Humans think too much. Fear comes from things we don't understand. Animals don't think as much as we do. All they know is, nothing can get me in here! I also had a cat that loved tight places...

animals suffer from many of the same mental disorders that humans do. i know for a fact that dogs suffer from depression, and many go through anxiety when they are separated from their masters (called separation anxiety). claustrophobia is a type of anxiety that you get when you're in a small space, so i would imagine that animals suffer from claustrophobia too.

nicely as a Spokesperson for my puppy sardine, Marmaduke, i might ought to assert that he would not like being shoved right into a tin along with his brethren. I propose think of approximately drowsing on a single mattress with 6 different persons; no longer in basic terms is it very heat in spite of the indisputable fact that it is going to become a conflict zone after a on a similar time as using fact everybody needs the canopy (or tomato sauce in Marmaduke's case). it would be a lot nicer in a king-length mattress! Sardines are frequently peace loving creatures yet while packed mutually for too long some severe tail-smacking starts! there is too a lot fin interior the tin! incredibly extra people could desire to communicate up for the sardines and their plight, undesirable fishy-wishies. I remeber while i replaced right into a sardine and that i replaced into packed in a tin..... i did no longer even get to % who my tin-acquaintances have been! One replaced into allergic to the tomato sauce and stored sneezing... very unsanitary. We had to flee by capacity of utilising his sneezes to blow off the lid and had to hail a cab to get returned to the sea. Do you any thought how no longer common it incredibly is to get a taxi drivers interest once you're in basic terms a pair of inches severe? We had to stand on one yet another... and then the cats stored coming to attack us! We lost 2 sturdy sardines that day. yet we've been given returned to the sea and swam loose till that darn seagull have been given us....
