I think it's great that we can all believe what we choose to believe. That is the reality.

Then why are you wasting everybody's time by coming here? You are evangelizing yourself right now! How does that make you any better than the people who come here to discuss biblical teachings?
Also, I know for a fact that God exists. He proves it to me constantly. It is not belief or trust. It's logic. I can't prove it to you though (not yet anyway - I'm working on it. Hope to write a book.) But faith is a lot more powerful than belief or trust. They aren't the same things. I can't explain it yet because it's so complex but one day I pray that I can.
Trust us enough to study the Bible with an open mind. (Forget preachers for now - do it yourself.) You can come to conclusions pretty quickly about what it is to be human by reading the Bible. Forget dogma and ritual in religion. The Bible actually has very little ritual and dogma in it! Read it and discover what it is to be a human being first. The Bible isn't only about worshiping God. It is also an instruction manual. The best one ever written.

Not quite right...
Hypothetical: a person wakes from a head injury and has no memory of religion or God. Technically he or she is an atheist because they don't believe in God. Time goes by and the person learns about Islam, Christianity and Buddism but none strikes a cord. Does the absence of a religious choice mean they have a belief that is atheism? Nope... its the absence of a belief obviously. Basically that is how most people come to be atheist... no religion strikes a cord.

I agree wholeheartedly with the thought behind what you've said. I myself have challenged Any one from Any faith to prove what they say with empirical and verifiable proof. Oh, and one more thing, it has to be made available to Everyone, not just a select few "chosen" ones. The result so far..........no takers! Faith is an individual choice as is lack of faith, and no one has the right to coerce or force their beliefs on any one else. If religious people spent as much time walking the walk as they do talking the talk, perhaps they'd have more credibility than they now have. If and when God moves his head in our direction we'll all know the real truth, until then all religions would be better off trying to work together instead of trying to set up their little "kingdoms on Earth". Sorry guys I'd rather rule in Hell than serve in Heaven. Don't you think eternal perfection could be eternally boring????

No not everyone can. If you're reading this then how do you know that you're not holed up in a mental hospital drugged up with medication you can't even pronounce? You don't, you believe! Oh, I know the atheists are going(and some theists), "YOU'RE INSANE!!!" But no matter how much you are convinced of your beliefs you can't truly prove them because you still believe that the facts or the chair or the computer are real.
But no matter how screwed up it is, no matter how twisted perception IS reality. Whereas one person perceives a God designed and God controlled world, others perceive a Godless world.
Reality check, reality is not absolute and reality is not the same for everyone. Einstein theorized that the universe could be changed by us. If you imagined that the universe was a container then what it contains, our consciousness, could influence and change it. That means that reality is not absolute and can be changed. I know what you're thinking, it's only theory though. But einstein knew the theory of relativity to be true long before he could prove it.

My lack of belief was change by something that is a fact at least to me.
Several years ago I had an unusual experience concerning an uncle, a distant relative who lived over a thousand miles away.
While driving my car I suddenly felt the unmistakable presence of this relative that I hardly even knew. He was more like someone I had heard about than someone I knew. It was very strange; it felt as though I was momentarily lifted right out of my physical body. I seemed to be suspended somehow beyond space and time, bathed in a love so intense It felt like I could have just disappear into it at any moment if It would have let me. It only lasted for a few seconds, but it seemed to last forever at the same time. I realize how crazy this must sound. The experience was so strong that at first I was afraid I was loosing my grip on reality. I finally managed to chalk it up to an over active imagination.
Three days later I got a call from my aunt telling me that this uncle we are talking about had gone into a coma and died the day I had the experience. It felt like ice water had been poured down my back when she told me this. I had lost any real ideas of God or faith and had become somewhat of an atheist. Needless to say this experience caused me to rethink some of the conclusions I had come to.
I feel blessed to now understand that even in our darkest confusion something loves us so much that it went out of its way to assist me and bring me back to a state of absolute certainty about Gods love for us.
During the experience it seemed like there was a vast amount of information that I was somehow allowed access to. One thing that I came away from this experience understanding beyond any shadow of a doubt was that any Idea that God is unhappy with us or would judge or allow us to be punished for any reason is simply impossible.
I can’t explain the love I felt with words. They simply don’t make words big enough or complete enough to do this. The only way I can begin to convey this love to you is to say that there was simply nothing else there. Nothing but love. No hint of judgment, no displeasure of any sort. It is as though God sees us as being as perfect as we were the day we were created. It is only in our confused idea of ourselves that we seem to have changed.
I hope this is of some help to you. Good luck. Love and blessings.
Your brother don

What was the question? Oh, yeah, can I face reality? They may be "beliefs", but Christianity has many, many, many scholars, Christian and non, who support it. There are countless books written on the truths of Christianity. There are probably many trying to disprove it as well. It's all about what you choose to believe. As for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.

I agree. I am a Wiccan, but there sure as hell isn't any proof that my gods exist. But they exist in my heart, and that's all that matters. If they don't exist in my neighbor's heart, that's fine with me. I don't expect everyone to believe in something that has never been proven. I choose to because it fulfills my life. Call me ignorant and brainwashed if you want, but I'm happy this way. :)
Blessed be.

I beg to differ.
God Himself is reality. Jesus Christ proved Himself authentically the Son of God by defying the laws of physics. The accounts on His life, teachings, death and resurrection can be authenticated by the overwhelming evidence from eyewitnesses of His time who witnessed these miracles and wrote about them. there is not one single shred of evidence that refutes what Jesus did, not one.
