I'm atheist and have a lot of christian friends. Yes, they try to get me to go to church but I am unsaveable wretched scum. It's a shame a few idiots can ruin it for nice people.

I absolutely don't judge Christians by Rev.Phelps. I don't share your beliefs but quite a few Christian people I know are much better people than I will ever dream to become. My point is a few idiots causes you to get categorized. I fly off the handle at times. What keeps me grounded is the kindness of the Christians I know personally.

Bah. If you are talking about Fred Phelps (the "God Hates Fags" guy), then yes, most Christians do find him embarrassing. Why? Because he makes 'em look bad of course! If it was up to me, the old bastard would have his balls cut off and shoved up his as$. I can only imagine (never seen his sermon in person) him cursing homosexuals to Hell and the people slowly exiting the church. Pathetic...

I consider all hypocritical, prejudicial and bigoted "Christians" (i.e. Rev. Phelps et al) as embarrassing to the true Christian faith.

It's the above-mentioned "people" who incite hate and all manner of wrongness against non-Christians and, sometimes, non-whites.

you should take revelation 3:9 in context with all the warnings Jesus issued to all the church homes. in this certain section Jesus is speaking about Christians who're weak, negative or lack capacity and factors, yet even with all of it they were straightforward to God and His be conscious. it really is why in verse 8 it says: 8 i comprehend thy works: behold, I have set till now thee an open door, and no guy can close it: for thou hast a touch capacity, and hast kept my be conscious, and hast not denied my call. the following verse 9 exhibits that the worst enemies of those weak Christians are wolves dressed like lambs..it really is human beings of rank and capacity (jews or christians) who on the exterior seem godly human beings yet on the interior they are self-dependent and greed pushed human beings, and who apparently have not shyed faraway from attacking those weaker and larger straightforward Christians. So in sum verse 9 does not recommend that Satanists will worship christians. no one might want to ever worship Christians because God does not percentage his glory with everyone, not even Christians. Verse 9 is meant to operate a comprehend encouragement for those Christians who're weak and fewer than attack, yet they are wanting to proceed to be straightforward. Jesus confirms this with verse 10 and 11 decrease than: 10 because thou hast kept the comprehend my patience, I will also save thee from the hour of temptation, which shall stumble upon all the international, to attempt them that live upon the earth.11 Behold, I come right away: carry that quick which thou hast, that no guy take thy crown. Key message the following: Be straightforward to God no count number what others say, atheists or hypocritical christians.

I am not embarrassed as I have nothing to be embarrassed about- THEY are the ones that should be embarrassed and ashamed! I am angered by their behavior and saddened for those that are hurt and affected negatively by their irresponsible, unchristian, hateful behavior.

If this is the dingdong in Kansas, then, Yes, we find that congregation disgusting. Please don't judge the hundreds of thousands of churches in the USA by this one sad group.
