My cat is really ticklish on her back paws. I was just wondering if their was a special reason that she doesn't like me touching them.

That part of a cat's paw is basically like a soft cushion for if it falls. They use the pink pads for when they are on their toes getting ready to jump. Also, that is like the soles of their paws like we have soles of out feet. I don't know about you, but I get really ticklish when somebody touches me there. In one sentence, the pink pads are one of the most sensitive parts of a cat, so be cautious if you need to touch them.

It's the same as a human foot. Some people are more ticklish than others, and cats are the same way. One of my cats will let me play with her paws and she rolls on her back. The other one just jerks his paw away and starts gnawing on his claws and licking the pads of his feet. It just depends on how sensitive the cat is.

Their paws are very sensitive. Also, they use their paws as a way to balance and, of course, walk. They don't want any damage to be done to them.

There are some cats who don't mind. My cat loves foot rubs--she's a weirdo.

Some cats have there own spots they don't like touched. Our
cat didn't mind. But the thing I did learn was that when you cat is lying down and you approch it its tail might go up and down.
What that means is leave me alone how did I figure that? When our cat did that I stopped and backed off. She stopped moving her tail. When I approched again she did it again. When I petted her she growled at me. I tried at diffrent time's . She most always did the same thing with her tail.A friend's cat would bite and scratch you if you rubbed his tummy.

It's one of a cats vulnerable areas, an area they are likely to try to protect - not because they necessarily think you'd hurt them, but because they want to feel a certain amount of control in any situation. And when you're tickled, you're at the mercy of the tickler. :-D
