Best for what?? Dry skin? Fleas? General Purpose? Whitening? I myself like to use differnt brands for different problems. I find that one company may make a great whitening shampoo, but I don't care for their Medicated shampoo. So, it depends on what you want the shampoo for.
Here are some good brands that I can think of off the top of my head. Whatever you do..do NOT use Hartz..that stuff is junk!
Kelco
Natures Specialties
Espree
Les Poochs
Double K (Groomers Edge)
Davis
Tropiclean
Fresh N Clean
Coat Handler
Stazko
Best Shot
Bio Groom
Mr Crystals

it depends on your dog. does it have dry, itchy skin? is it a puppy? does it have "hot spots". do you want a shampoo that just smells good? do you want one with a conditioner?
there are many things to consider when buying a shampoo for dogs.
never use human shampoos or Dawn as some people suggest. those are NOT made for dogs delicate skin.
always rinse your dog well, then rinse it again to make SURE you get all the shampoo off.

Baby shampoo works great. Try to use a conditioner as well. Don't bathe your dog more then every other week (preferably much less frequently) as you can dry the skin out and cause problems with dandruff and itching.

For a routine cleaning, I love HyLyt shampoo. This is available at vet offices and I use it on all of my dogs....and it's the only one we've ever carried at work.
HyLyt Shampoo is a gentle, hypoallergenic, soap-free formulation with natural moisturizing factors and essential fatty acids for luxurious cleansing of normal, dry or sensitive skin.
And the best part, it smells like coconut! :)

certainly, once per week is in basic terms too a lot.. you'll dry out her pores and skin and coat doing that. She might want to easily be bathed once a month at maximum.. contained in the iciness time, she might want to easily be bathed even as dirty.. daily brushing will suffice to get rid of airborne dirt and airborne dirt and dust and debris from the coat. i love Tomlyn's Pearls au Lait milk bath.. I cant keep in mind if I were given it at PetSmart or Petco tho.. they do have a strawberry scented one. both absolutely one of those shops have a quite huge decision of shampoos.. maximum puppy shampoos are high quality, yet i'd dodge any products made by technique of Hartz.

Get a dog shampoo that is mild enough to use every week. Even if you do not bath your dog that often this is great because it wont dry out your dogs skin and make him itch.
