My cat likes banana pieces. Every time I have one she sits on my lap and waits for a treat =)

You can't get a cat to do anything they don't want to do...they are cats. My cat love Cantaloupe, I cut them in half I eat what I want and put it on the floor and he will lick all the juice out of the bottom, and if I take some small slices out he will eat it. So if you are eating a piece of fruit, offer a small bit to the cat, and if he/she eats it great if not oh well. Good Luck KG

Cats do not eat fruit because they are not meant to. Some fruits can cause problems for the cats digestive tract actually. I havce heard grapes, lemons, oranges and other citrus fruits can be especially bad for them, while others are not so good either. For instance, the cores of apple contain a chemical similar to arsenic which does not hurt humans, but it can be toxic to smaller animals.

Why on Earth would you want to have your cat eat fruits anyway? Cat food contains the nutrients they need. Their bodies are different then a humans and they need different vitamins then we do, and some things we eat can be poison for our pets. They do have specific vegan pet foods out there, which are made for pets, if that is what you are after. Do not feed her human foods in place of cat food please!

Most cats don't eat fruits and don't "need" to eat fruits.

However, there is a cat treat made with cranberries to support urinary function. My cat does not like this treat, but will eat it if it is mixed with her regular wet food.

If you're concerned about your cat getting enough fiber, wheat grass is a good "essential" to add to your pets diet - it's often sold as 'cat grass' in pet superstores (Petsmart, Petland, etc).

Of course, I'm sure there are some cats that enjoy fruits...I've had one that enjoyed fresh roasted peanuts (yes, we sat around and shelled peanuts for a cat), another who eats Krispy Kreme doughnuts and In and Out burgers (small bites), and one that eats at the dining table - she sits in a chair, and eats off her plate that's on the table...without putting her paws on the table.

Offer your cat different fruits and see if he/she likes any of them - just be sure they are fruits you like, so you can eat what he/she doesn't!

Cats are obligate carnivores. That means they need meat and only meat to thrive. Fruits have absolutely no nutritional value for a cat, and they're probably too high in natural sugars, anyway. Leave kitty alone and let him/her eat the meaty cat food.

Why?????????? Cats are obligate carnivores and only need meat and organs from prey in their diet. Wild felines starve before they will eat any vegetable matter, let alone fruits.

I have tried cantaloupe with my cats because I heard some cats like it. Mine didn't. Certainly a "snack" of fruit might appeal to a cat and it is not required or appropriate for its diet.

Cats are natural meat eaters. You can't make them eat fruit and to try to make a cat into a vegan or vegetarian, you will endanger the cats health.
