Can you get the BBC World Service on your radio? http://www.bbc.co.uk/worldservice/schedules/frequencies/index.shtml That should give you plenty of exposure to the accent you aspire to.

There are a wide range of accents spoken in Britain, it can be very disheartening for a newcomer! But the BBC World Service sounds like a good idea to get the feel for "Received Pronuciation", which used to be the standard accent in England. I'm British, but to be honest most people find American English easier and more relevant.

Whell, which British accent would you be wanting to learn, They likely have more accents than the USA does. Liverpudlian, Soof Loondun and so on. Brits love American movies, It cracks them up to hear an American Actor have an Oxford Don speak Cockney or even (God Bless) Eaton College.

Carey Grant school of acting LOL!!! Say nothing and don't move!!!

I'm glad you asked!
As you may already know, there are so many dialects within the British Isles. So it really depends on which accent you'd like to learn.

It seems like that you're interested in Received Pronunciation, which is the proper upper-class British accent that is widely (but not always) used in BBC TV and radio news channels.

If that's the case, I recommend you the following web sites.

Good luck on your British accent!

Listen to movies online or just plain movies with the British Accent. From those, learn from that by practicing.

The BBC has English courses online; you can go thru the lessons and play the sound files or better yet, watch their news videos! They got plenty! And you can always listen to the BBC World service.... it's on 24/7. Online too.
