well there are some softwares out there that claim that they can actually recover them unless you write new data (take pics).. but i doubt it.. hmm you could still try googling:

I have heard that there is a program out there to retrieve pics from a card. your best bet after searching the web is to contact a good camera store and ask about such software.

This is when you say, "I wish I bought a Sandisk or Lexar card and installed their free image recovery software."

Read the other answers where some users recommend sites to buy 3rd party image recovery software.

go back and re-take them because the information that was on the card is gone.
