She's been acting different lately, she claims that people eye r@pe her (say a man walks by her, she will honestly cry rape) and she thinks that every man in the world wants her, she goes around talking about her underwear (out loud) and complains that shes fat because shes "only" a size 4...is she suffering from something? i am very concerned, and yes i am very serious.

I once knew a very disturbed woman who insisted "he wants me" at almost every encounter with a man, whether it was the neighbor's 14 year old son or the poor guy toting her concrete blocks at Home Depot. She also dressed provocatively, and was a borderline exhibitionist.
This lady was in her 30's AND a school teacher!!!!!!!! She could behave normally for a while, dress appropriately and was very caring regarding her many pets (until she wound up hoarding almost 70 dogs and 90 cats and was arrested).....very long, weird story.
Your friend does have a serious problem. The issue here is, does she know it, is she too far gone to care, and as a friend, can you do anything about getting her the care she needs? With mental health, it usually requires a lot of effort from next-of-kin, and that's only if the person is a danger to themselves....you can see how difficult it is to proceed when seeking help. Friends have almost no resources. It would be up to you to convince her to go to a counselor (for starters), and most people with problems think everyone ELSE has the problem (like the ones who "want to rape" your friend.)
The woman I knew was finally reported to the police by her own aging father, from another state, because of the animals (try 90 cats in a singlewide trailer!) . They still couldn't, or wouldn't do anything to her except take the animals from her. She then decided to move, and from what I've heard, is "collecting" animals again, and teaching school again in south Florida.
Good luck to you, and please go carefully.

it is a psychological problem. some kind of complex. she thinks about herself too much. ask her to divert her mind to some mental/physical activities. tell her the entire world is made of two sexes and always it will attract each other. tell her she has to worry only when no body looks at her. tell her the god given this body for various purposes one is for continuity of mankind i.e. childbirth. ask her to read more about the world. if necessary take her to a psychirotic doctor. some meditation will also help to realise the real world. further tell that all the men are not bad only enjoy seeing the beauty.
best wishes to her

Well, besides the fact that she needs to get in touch with a therapist, it sounds kind of like histrionic personality disorder. Go to webmd.com and look it up, and see if it sounds like her.

Yes, she needs professional help. The sooner is the better. She cannot be properly diagnosed by Yahoo answers, You are a great friend, take her to a psychiatrist, or have her referred to one.Good luck.

I would be very concered as well if i was you. But do you think she is doing it for attention. She may like the attention she gets from other people. To answer this question it would help to have her age.

You can do nothing for your friend. In fact, if you try to help her you may fuel these paranoid ruminations of hers. She needs to get into therapy. What you are describing is not a safe or healthy situation.

She might be 'grandstanding' for attention and this might be the only way she can get the attention that she needs. Talk to a councelor or doctor - together.
