Does anyone have any idea how many calories are burned at a standard/slow pace using a mini-exercise bike?

Here's an example of one: http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.do?product_id=3297829

Does it burn the same amount of calories as a regular exercise bike? I would think not, but hoped someone would know.

It would be good to know exactly how many calories are burned, say, after 30 minutes of this type of exercise, for purposes of my own workout routine and diet as well. Thanks! :)

I am severely overweight... too overweight for any regular equipement, as most have weight limits. I was hoping for this to be a better alternative, however, looks like it's up to me to save up my money for a water aerobics membership.

if you want to loss weight then buying a mini bike will not help. if you want to loos weight fast then you should consider eating more carbohydrates and less fat. eat 3 times a day at the right times then eat more vegetables than meat and make sure you get plenty of excersice.
list of excersices:
if you want to safe up your money to do some water work out htat is fine but just plain swimming is a better method. swim untilll you feel tired will burn thousands of calories. or just simply jog for 30-50 minuets a day will also help.(jogging burns mor cal than swiming) and work your arms with some dumbells these excersies are the most efective 4 weight loss. but my personal favorite exsercise is moutain bikeing buy a avrage moutain bike with 18 or 21 speeds and ride on some trails for a few hours each day will burn lots of cals and make your weight loss enjoyable. or you can just simply spend ur money on a personltrainer for best results.

If you really want to burn calories get on a "real" bike. 90 minute on my "road" bike, I can burn over 1500 calories. A regular exercise bike will come pretty close to this. Depending on the effort you put into your routine.
Any exercise is better than none. However, I believe you could use your time and money on something (anything) other than the mini bike.
