I'm not shy but i have social anxiety I'm not sure if that could be put in the same category ...but anyways I like to think when i have to socialize that everybody there has been waiting for me and almost like your a celeb. So you don't feel shy . It helps me some people might think I'm weird but it helps. It takes a lot of the pressure away ( especially if its people you don't know):D experience

I was very shy in my teens and early twenties . I think once I became more independent I gained confidence. If I mention being shy to people I know now they laugh at me.

I'm extremely shy, and I've found that you have to stop thinking that your going to say or do something wrong because usually you seem more akward when you don't say or do anything at all.

It's hard to do, but make a goal to say hi and smile at people. Start with one person a day. Take baby steps.

it depends how bad it is. there is medicine for social anxiety disorder, but i think what helped me was once i realized that i couldnt die from a panic attack i pretty much got over it, because if it doesnt kill you it only makes you stronger.

no. I guess just gradual exposure to social situations would help.
