Great and thought provoking philosophical question!
Sometimes I wish I could believe in reincarnation. I'd sure do a lot of things differently if, as they say, I'd known then what I know now. Or it might be fun to live as a bird, or a fish, or a dog...
What I really suspect is that death is the end of conciousness, at least as we know it. I also suspect that whatever life force exists within us simply blends back into the cosmic energy of the universe, just as our bodies will inevitably blend back into the stuff of the earth.
What I cannot believe is that a loving God, who loved us so much that he sent his only begotten Son to die for us, would cast any human being into a lake of fire for all eternity. Of course, maybe that's not too much of a stretch, given all the suffering he allows here on earth.
Great question! I look forward to reading other answers!

I would like death to be natural and calm and I would hope to be welcomed by the spirits of those I had cared for in life who had gone on before me. I dont believe that a form of afterlife can only be given with a God and therefore my thoughts on death change less than my thoughts on life with the supposition of no God. - is that the sort of thing you were looking for? Is my interpretation of your question anyway.

Do you mean the manner of my death?
Quick and painless and I don't want to see it coming.
After death?
Well I'd quite like to live for ever, but if I had to go, I'd like there to be a place where I can be with all the people I love the best and I'd like life to continue pretty much as it is now but with more time to see people and talk to them.
Actually, come to think of it I'd like all those who had suffered to find peace. All those who had done evil in their lives to feel the pain of their actions on others and everyone to just get on.
Sorry that's a bit pie in the sky I know but there we are.

If God doesn't exist then we wouldn't be here to answer your question. There could be no death, just non existance

The same as it is now,no heaven or hell, but still an afterlife.I would like death to be a conscious "passing over".The Lakota call it,"laying down your robe."

It doesn't matter if God exists or not as we're gonna die regardless, so as long as it's quick and painless!
Hopefully he does though coz of all that afterlife stuff!
