I am an MD. In the medical literature, it is well accepted that the more you weigh, the sooner will come your first period, although if you are really fat that could impair things as well. Also the more athletic you are the more you will suppress your periods from coming. Stress will also tend to supress and delay the onset of your periods. So if you really want them to come, then gain weight, especially fat mass, (but not too fat), be more of a couch potato, and don't stress over things.
But I agree with the others. Be happy you don't have them for now, since they really are a pain in the rear to deal with sometimes, literally. And you will start losing Iron every month, which will make you less healthy.
If you have pubic hair, then it shouldn't be much longer to wait.

No, for some people it just happens later than others. It's mostly hereditary. When did your mom get hers? It's a rough indicator. I also was a late bloomer and although at the time I really wanted it to come, when it did, a month later i wished it would go away. Don't worry, it doesn't mean your friends are any more mature than you or anything like that. There's myths that say that there are some things you can do to make it come faster, but nothing will really work except time. When you're meant to get it, you will. And once you have it, you'll wish you didnt! I actually used to make up that I had mine and go to the bathroom and "change" my tampon so my friends wouldn't suspect. I'm not suggesting you go that far, but maybe just tell your friends you've had yours.

Girl, your period will come when it comes. Some girls get it early whereas others get it after the age of 16. If you really want to start, nothing will get it started until your body is ready. Just because something happens in 7th heaven doesn't mean it will happen in real life. Talk to your mom though and see when she started because starting is based on family history.
By the way, having your period is not all it is cracked up to be. It can be painful. You are also very emotional and can have extreme mood changes. Don't believe everything you hear or see. When it starts it starts.

Girl, I know the grass is greener from the other side but hear my side out. Im in 8th grade and i got my peroid in 5th grade (dang those big hips) Anywho Its A HUGE PAIN IN THE A$$! Literly. Like today I was crabby all day and on the bus I was like oh i'll probably have my period next week. I came home from school and relized i bleeded through my pants soooo bad i had to through away my undies and my fav pair of jeans! Plus i walked around school with a huge stain not even relizing it. Many people see it as a right of passage or becoming a "woman"" but really its torture. Be thankful for what you do/don't have. But remember the grass is greener from the other side!

Nothing in the world is gonna make you hit puberty faster. Your just gonna have to wait. Besides periods are a pain in the butt, enjoy not having one while you can. Because it's gets old real fast and you'll have them til you hit menopause!
Everyone hits puberty and different ages. I didn't start my period until I was sixteen. Of course people still think that I am in my 20's so it's all good.

Darling, your period will come when it is time. You can do nothing to rush it or make it come faster. I say enjoy this time while you can, getting a period is not what its all hyped up to be. Do a little research on the average time that girls get their periods. I think its in between the ages of 10 and 16.

There is nothing to be ashamed of by not having your period. It doesn't mean that you haven't started puberty. Puberty starts long before a girls first period. You should be thankful to not have it yet, as it can be quite the annoyance. I'd love not to have a period! So be patient, it will happen soon enough.

Does that work? NO. There isn't really a way for you to start your period earlier than your friends. I started when I was 11 years old, before I started 7th grade. Some girls start as late as 16, but if you don't start by then, you might want to see a doctor. But overall..NO there isn't really a way for you to start your period that's not natural.

There is just no way to make your period begin. Many things determine when that might be for you. For example, genetics. When your mother, grandmother and aunts began theirs tells alot about when you will start yours.
If you are concerned about the other girls just kind of let it slip that you had yours and it was no big deal. They'll stop bothering you about it and you can relax.
Trust me, you don't want to be in any big hurry to deal with that hassle every month.
