Why was you speeding in the first instance? Because of a new law (not too new of about 2 years or so) within the UK if you fail to pay a speeding fine you can lose your car to the crusher. As you can if you get caught with no Tax, Insurance, or MOT. It is harsh but it is meant to be. You can lose your car just for those reason. Speeding is also one of those offences for which there is any excuse. (Except in a life/death situation will you be excused paying, otherwise its erm pay up or risk having your car crushed!)
Next time stay within the speed limits they are there because someone thinks that that is the safe speed to drive at!

Don't speed, so you won't get a ticket in the first place.

You don't. Unless you wish to be told that you can not renew your drivers license, or register your car. The states have an agreement, and every time your license or registration comes up for renewal, your name and Social Security Number is run nationwide.

Make it easy on yourself, pay the ticket, avoid further trouble down the road.

there is, I know for a fact, that if you are caught by a permanent camera, and are sent by post a fine, can be avoided at times.
There are so many cameras, it is in possible to track all offenders.
Ignore it twice is my advice, and find some excuse on the 3rd, like being abroad or something for not responding 2 other ones.
Hubby has been caught twice and ignored...............did not even get to 3rd!

If you don't pay it the court issues a warrant for your arrest. Meaning I get the pleasure of yanking you out of, school, work, play, or home to take you to jail.
