Latter-day Saints or LDS is the short term for a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. The term "Latter-day" is used only to differentiate the dispensation (era of time where the actual Priesthood of God has been restored and is in effect) that the Church of Jesus Christ is operating in, that is to say, we are living in the last days or "latter days" of the history of the world. My guess is once the Second Coming of Jesus Christ happens, it will just be called the Church of Jesus Christ - for everyone. "Mormon" is another nickname we go by, which is the name of one of the prophets in the Book of Mormon, which we use in addition to the Bible as two strong witnesses of Jesus Christ as the Son of God and Redeemer and Savior of all. Have a happy day.
