Without God there is no morality, so why not just do what you want? Are they just really good at doing it without getting caught? I know atheists are really sneaky. That's why they wear a lot of black. It's scary!

Okay....I was taking this question seriously until I read "That's why they wear a lot of black." LOL

I guess I should pray for them to stop being sneaky and wearing black.

"Why don't atheists rape and kill people? There's no God to stop them!?"

So, if you didn't believe in being sent to Hell, you'd go out on a rape/murder spree? If the Bible didn't tell you not to murder, you would?

"Without God there is no morality"
That is not a factual statement. Show me the proof, the evidence of that.

"I know atheists are really sneaky. That's why they wear a lot of black."
Did you poll a whole lot of Atheists, read a statistical report on sneakiness corralating with clothing color, or make an assumption on the very few Atheists you know?

ROFLOL! Well, I think that people can still have morals without having a God. God does not equal morality. Morals are simply defined civilized behaviors. i.e. Don't kill people, don't steal stuff, don't rape people, respect others' and their property, mind your manners etc... Parents who aren't Christian or who don't practice Abrahamic religions teach their children these things all the time! This includes atheists. I know many atheists who are more polite and civilized than some religious people I've met. So we really have to drop the idea that God=Morality. It doesn't.

First of all, you are the king of ignorant sweeping generalizations about things you cannot comprehend.

Second, moral values are unique to each individual, and on a broader scope, culture.

An atheist looks to himself for moral values, instead of to some cultural icon like the Koran or Bible. It makes an atheist more socially responsible for his own moral actions whereas a Xtian can babble inanely like you have in your question and feel guilt free because you feel you were serving a Xtian cause by degrading thise who do not believe as you do.

So, do a little research. And no, not all atheist wear black. But, we may seem more sneaky because I have the feeling that we are more intelligent than you; and categorizing us as "sneaky" explains how our logic sneaks into your brain, slowly corrodes you Xtian reasoning.

People can have morals with out without a God. I'm a Christian, but I even find that question insulting.

You are being so totally judgmental, I think the Bible says something about that, I'm not sure, but maybe you should check.

haha, the fallacy here is called "Begging the Question"--this is where you make an arguable statement like "Without God there is no morality" and then base your question on that. There are many reasons not to kill, besides fear of punishment from God or law. Even animals know this.

Oh, for "heaven's sake"....will you read what you wrote??? How the hell do you know atheists kill and rape people. Church going Christians do too, I'm sure. Take a good look at the scandals going on in the Catholic churches, how many priests are coming out of the closet and abusing young boys??? You think they're atheist?

You have it backwards.

WITH a belief in God there is no morality.

Morality dictates how a person behaves when they believe no one is watching. Since theists believe God is always watching, they have no occasion in life to display their morality or lack thereof.

For them, every action is based merely on whether or not they will be rewarded by God. That is NOT morality. Even rats will behave as desired when they are rewarded or punished for their actions.

ouch ouch ouch! Just because I don't believe in a god does not mean I do not have morals! I have great ones!!!! my morals were taught to me through wonderful parenting, and education. I do the things that I want too, but they definitely do not go against my morals. I have the power to think and to know what is right and wrong. Although I am wearing black in my picture, baby blue is my favorite color.. really! Your question makes me feel like I am the devil in your eyes... I promise I am sweet!

You have made the incorrect assumption that lack of belief in "God" equates with immorality.
Humanists are atheist. They believe that an ethical and moral life can be led without the influence of diety-based religion.

What is truly scary is that a theist like yourself has been spoon-fed such nonsense.

Calm down, take a few deep breathes.

God never stops us from our free will of choice.

It's our own conscience at work when we start believing that there is a God.

God don't have to judge rights and wrongs, because by the universal laws of karma (cause-and-effectiveness), we reap what we sow.
Therefore, we'll make sensible choices, because we're responsible for all we choose for ourselves.
