Well,Well After 8 yrs.Two nights ago my boyfriend came home from work after stoping at a pawn shop.He bought me a 1/4 caret ring from that pawn shop. Its not 3 carets but, in my eyes its beautiful.I never thought I would see a ring.So the tears started rolling. He gave me that ring because he loves me.I wouldn't want a big expensive ring from the mall.My ex husband once bought me a $3,000 dollar ring .It didn't mean as much as this one does now.So if you have a woman who wants you to make payments forever.Shes not thinking with her hart.Or its an awful little hart.

Pawn shop, some shops can have really nice and inque pieces of jewelry. Be careful though it might not be a real diamond. If you decide to get a ring at a pawn shop, make sure there is a return policy on it. Most pawn shops don't have papers saying that the gem is a diamond more less what the clarity, cut or color of the diamond. Make sure you get an appraisal from a hewler not associated with a pawn shop as well.
It shouldn't matter where you get the ring from, its suppose to be more about the reason behind then the actual ring. Besides you don't have to tell her where you go it at.

A ring at the pawn shop is just as good as a ring from the mall. Besides you don't have to tell anyone where you got it from anyway because it really does not matter. A ring will not define your marriage or your love, it is just a symbol. It's what is in your heart that is the real true caret.

First of all NOT From the mall for sure!!! 3 carat doesn't really mean much if the diamond is a piece. You have to look for Color, Clarity, Cut and Carat.... all things go into the diamonds value, look and worth so size really doesn't matter. I would suggest you figure the specs on the rings at the pawn shop and find out what its really worth. NEVER buy from the mall, the jewerly is over prices and mass produced so your likey to have the same ring as jane doe.... NO ONE WANTS THAT.... find a nice jewerly store not in the mall that has a good reputation...... Good Luck.

A new ring - a small one from a department store, even. Can get one for $100 and up. Mature women don't care about the size of the ring, but wouldn't appreciate one from a pawn shop, no matter the size. A family or heirloom ring would be different. Honestly, there are lots of pretty rings out there for not much money; you should not go into debt.

You do not want to put something on her finger that you don't own! If it's financed, its not really yours. If something goes wrong for you financially, the ring could be taken away. Don't risk it.
If you know for sure what you're buying from the pawn shop, go for it! Just make sure that its worth the money you're spending (you need some type of reputable appraisal certificate).
Better yet, take some time, save some money, buy her something beautiful and special that you can afford. Try to find a diamond dealer that will allow you to trade in the small stone for a larger one when you're financially ready. Good luck!

Definitely the ring from the pawn shop. If she's like me, she'll be stunned by the size of the diamond and hopefully the beauty of the ring altogether rather than by where you bought it. I recommend being open and honest about where you got it though. We don't want any surprises down the road! She should appreciate you being frugal rather than getting into debt and spending all of your money that could be used for a big wedding, nice house, new car, new baby, etc....

Neither!
Go to a real jeweler!
Mall jewelry is never going to be as original as a ring from a real jeweler!
Call around to local Mom and Pop jewelry stores and see what they have to offer. Most times they have local gold smiths that can make you original works for a good price. Many have pre-made pieces that are local works too.
Call around your area and see what you can find. For a little bit of leg work, you could wind up with a one of a kind piece of art!
Good Luck
PS If you are going for a diamond, get a GIA Certification on it no matter where you buy it. If the store says they don't do certifications, run don't walk to another store.

Wow...There is just something about a pawn shop that screams NOT ROMANTIC!!!! If you were just giving it to her for no special reason then it would be ok...But im almost positive she would rather have a cheaper ring from the mall than a used one from a pawn shop with no clue as to where it came from or whose finger it was on....But hey, you know her the best. Good luck!!!

Diamondgeezer.com saved me a fortune, about 1/3 retail, forget the pawn shop- the quality of the diamond is much more important that the size (within reason)
