how long does the credit bureaus have to verify/delete/remove items that are disputed?

The company reporting the negative item in dispute has 30 days to respond to the dispute.

It takes 7 years from the time it was reported to be removed from your credit report, if the information is accurate. If you have an inaccurate item on there you can request they do an investigation into the matter or request they remove it from your credit report.

It can take years to correct your file...the best thing to do is hire one of those attorney guys/girls who deal with credit reporting agencies...I had to, to have some negative items removed.
it's worth it...bout 30mo
