Nah. I do not think that the holy spirit is a person because it was added to Jesus at his baptism and the scripture at John 15 v 26 says that Jesus was going to return after his resurrection and bestow the same spirit onto his disciples that had been with him from the beginning. so how can this person ? be added to all his disciples ?

Holy spirit is an active force that God uses to accomplish his will

A comparison of Bible texts that refer to the holy spirit shows that it is spoken of as ‘filling’ people; they can be ‘baptized’ with it; and they can be “anointed” with it. (Luke 1:41; Matthew. 3:11; Acts 10:38) None of these expressions would be appropriate if the holy spirit were a person.

Jesus also referred to the holy spirit as a “helper” (Greek, pa·ra′kle·tos), and he said that this helper would “teach,” “bear witness,” “speak,” and ‘hear.’ (John 14:16, 17, 26; 15:26; 16:13) It is not unusual in the Scriptures for something to be personified. For example, wisdom is said to have “children.” (Luke 7:35) Sin and death are spoken of as being kings. (Romans. 5:14, 21) While some texts say that the spirit “spoke,” other passages make clear that this was done through angels or humans. (Acts 4:24, 25; 28:25; Matthew. 10:19, 20; compare Acts 20:23 with 21:10, 11.) At 1 John 5:6-8, not only the spirit but also “the water and the blood” are said to ‘bear witness.’ So, none of the expressions found in these texts in themselves prove that the holy spirit is a person.

The correct identification of the holy spirit must fit all the scriptures that refer to that spirit. With this viewpoint, it is logical to conclude that the holy spirit is the active force of God. It is not a person but is a powerful force that God causes to emanate from himself to accomplish his holy will.—Psalm. 104:30; 2 Peter. 1:21; Acts 4:31.

The Holy Spirit is the third person in the Trinity. He is fully God. He is eternal, omniscient, omnipresent, has a will, and can speak. He is alive. He is a person. He is not particularly visible in the Bible because His ministry is to bear witness of Jesus (John 15:26).
Some cults like the Jehovah's Witnesses say that the Holy Spirit is nothing more than a force (Reasoning from the Scriptures, 1985, pp. 406-407). This is false. If the Holy Spirit were merely a force, then He could not speak (Acts 13:2); He could not be grieved (Eph. 4:30); and He would not have a will (1 Cor. 12:11).
The truth is that the Holy Spirit is a person the same as the Father and the Son are within the Trinity.

The Holy Spirit is the creators active force that is used many a time to accomplish his will. Genesis 1:2, Jesus and his Apostles had the gift of the creators force, to accomplish his will while they were on earth in the teachings and other acts they did recorded in the book of Acts and other books in the New Testament.
Today the Holy Spirit backs up those who are doing the creators will, One such will is recorded at Matthew 24:14
Peace....

As I understand it, the Holy Spirit is the presence of God, potentially dwelling "within" a person who has accepted Jesus Christ as their Savior.

The Holy Spirit is mentioned several times in the Holy Bible as either influencing the actions of people (some speak through the Holy Spirit), or acting upon people (being taken away by the Holy Spirit).

So, I see the Holy Spirit as one aspect of God.

The Holy Spirit works today in the same way as it did before the beginning of time, as it did during biblical times, and as it will continue to work - residing with the lives of those who believe in Jesus Christ.

I rely on the Holy Spirit to lead my life (though I too often am tempted in another direction). I know when I am acting according to the Holy Spirit and when I am straying - thank God for His graceful forgiveness through Jesus Christ!

In the Bible,God's holy spirit is identified as God's power in action.Hence, an accurate translation of the Bible's Hebrew text refers to God's spirit as "God's active force"(Gen1.2NV)This concept is well supported throughout the Bible - Micah 3:8;Luke1:35;Acts10:38
It is not unusual for God's Word to personify things that are not a person.
Jesus said that "wisdom is proved righteous by all its children",or its good results(Luke7:35).
Clearly, wisdom is not a person that has literal children!Likewise, the holy spirit is not a person simply because in some instances it is personified.

Mat 12:31 WHEREFORE (given that of this) I say unto you, All procedure of sin and blasphemy will likely be forgiven unto guys: however the blasphemy towards the Holy Ghost shall now not be forgiven unto guys. Because of what? What used to be reward on the time, and what used to be taking place? Matthew 12:28 “But IF I solid out devils by way of the Spirit of God (P), THEN the dominion of God is come unto you. (Q)” Matthew 21:forty three- “Therefore say I unto you, The kingdom of God will likely be taken from you (~Q)…” THEREFORE, NOT Christ is casting out devils by way of the Spirit of God (~P) P -> Q ~Q ? ~P Matthew 21:-forty three “…and given to a country bringing forth the culmination thereof.” But (X). -> Rev 12:10 Therefore, the disciples had been now not instructed to evangelise, cleanse the lepers, lift the useless, solid out devils, however to “wait”, “tarry ye within the town of Jerusalem, till ye be endued with vigour from on prime.” Luk 24:forty nine. Act one million:four. The testimony of them that heard him (Heb two:three-four) is over (1Cor. thirteen:eight-thirteen) and the vigour and authority of the Kingdom won't "be come" once more till Rev 12:10. Very few men and women may even comprehend what is going on ample at the moment to blaspheme the Holy Spirit.

The Holy Spirit works as it's always worked in the Bible.
First, you must be saved. Next, you must believe that healing, miracles (eg. water into wine) (the only one I can think of right now). Then, pray that the Holy Spirit will come into your heart. If you are filled with the Holy Spirit, then you will be able to pray in tounges. To see if you can pray in tongues, first you must 'create' your tongue'. To do this, say a phrase about God that you like (eg. God is holy) really fast, and keep on saying it. Eventually, it will become "gibberish" that will mean something to God. He will understand it, and what you are trying to pray will be heard exactly as you want to say it (perfectly). If you can pray in tongues, speak your tongue and, in your head, count to ten. If you can do that, you can pray in tongues, which means you are filled with the Holy Spirit. Basically, the Holy Spirit can allow you to do what is deemed impossible by the scientific community.

Who is the Holy Spirit? The Holy Spirit is God Himself as He works today in the world and in the hearts of God's people. In other words, the Holy Spirit is God's presence with us today. At one time God came to us as a man: Jesus Christ, who was God in human flesh. But now God comes to us through His Spirit, Who—although He is unseen—is just as real as Jesus was to the first disciples. Jesus promised them, "If I go, I will send him to you" (John 16:7). That promise was fulfilled on Pentecost.

Never forget: The Holy Spirit is God Himself. (This, incidentally, is why we should always refer to the Holy Spirit as "He" and not as an impersonal "it.") As such, He is all-powerful and all-knowing, and He loves us with an everlasting love. He also convicts us of sin and shows us the truth about Christ; He helps us when we pray and works within us to change our lives.

Does God's Spirit dwell in you? The Bible warns, "If anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he does not belong to Christ" (Romans 8:9). Make sure of your commitment to Christ—and then thank God for the gift of the Holy Spirit, who now lives within you and will help you as you submit your life to Him.
