If you are a true born again Christian that believes Jesus Christ is Lord, and you are doing what the Bible says you should do. Then God hears your prayers each time you pray. Better yet God knows our heart and our inter most thoughts. You asked how long and how to pray? Depends of what or who, if I'm praying for a person to be saved, I never quit until that person is saved or dies. Now I don't mean I pray all day long, but at least once a day, or in my prayers before I go to bed. We are Gods children, so as a child of God I prefer to call God, "Father". So I pray something like this,'Father please forgive anything I've done wrong today, thank you for loving me and please save my friend --------, and so on. I personally don't think it's HOW LONG but how much you pray and how much you really mean it. For instance a Christian saying a really long prayer because they think that just because it's long it means something versus another christian saying a short 10 minute prayer and putting all their heart and thoughts into it. After all God is the one that's going to be judging you in the end.
