I think that you should let your boyfriend know that you are going out with a friend, even if he doesn't know him, If you don't tell him and someone sees you they have every right to think that you are in fact cheating, ask yourself this question, if you are only friends why are you hiding it from your bf??

If your bf does see it, and thinks something is going on, just tell him that's not how it is. He should trust you. If he get's really worried and freaks out, just whisper in his ear that he's the only one you want to be with, and that you are flattered he cares so much. Then have hot sex like you never have before. Lol. ^_^

Your friend apparently knows that youre having boyfriend troubles and may be taking advantage of the situation....you too. Youre having doubts about your boyfriend because of his distance from you. Not good for your relationship and the reason you hesitate to go out with the 'friend' cuz you probably like him or need the ego boost. My guess is that if your relationship with your boyfriend was better, that you'd not go out with your guy friend? right??
My suggestion is to hold up on the dinner until you talk to your boyfriend. Just tell him. Youre having doubts, youre feeling insecure and he has distanced himself from you and youre feeling vulnerable. (a good reason not to go out on dinner dates with the opposite sex!!)
Unless you know youre capable of keeping intimate distance from your friend while youre feeling sad about your boyfriend. Good luck.
Peace.

Sure , it's all good . just tell your B/F your going out to eat with your friend and you will call when you get home. If he has a problem with that. introduce him then kiss him goodbye. If he still has a problem then that is his problem. you don't need a guy like that.

Trust me, please please please just tell your BF that you are going out to a dinner with a guy friend. It doesnt matter if he's being distant. Maybe that's a good way to bring that action up. It's better that you are up front with him, if he gets really upset, then its up to you to determine if it's still worth going out with the friend. But trust me it's not worth the heartache and pain that not telling him and him finding out will cause.

there are separate issues in this question of yours. don't mix your current boyfriend problem with this dinner with your guyfriend.

if you yourself see it as just a dinner, it wont be a problem. your life decisions cannot be made based on the approvals of your boyfriend. this is your own personal friend- and it just so happens he is a boy.does gender create problems in friendships? its all in the mind.

go for the dinner, and for goodness sake, enjoy it.
deal with the boyfriend later.
