At the back of your computer there are several small sockets which accept a 3.5 mm size stereo plug. One of those is called "line-in". This is for signals nominally 1 volt in signal strength, but it will accept the output signal from your CD player. My CD player has a socket labeled "line-out", so that makes it easy. I just connect a cord (with 3.5 mm male stereo plugs on each end) between "line-out" on my CD player and "line-in" on the computer. I also have a Boom Box I used to play through my computer. It has only output for speakers and headphones. I use the same double-ended cord to patch from the headphones jack to the computer. But then I have to adjust the volume control on the Boom Box so it does not "overdrive" the computer and cause distortion.

Hi. Use your headphone out jack to the line in jack of your PC sound input. Will work fine. Set volume out to mid-point or so. Good luck!
