Let me begin by noting the incredible power of the mind to both deceive and to work wonders. The mind creates whatever you have faith for it to create, regardless of its basis in reality. You can see anything you want, real or unreal. Witchcraft is a methodology/tradition used in building "faith" in accomplishing various agendas. Do not assume that those who practice magic actually affect reality. My experience is that this is not the case at all, though it can seem real even to the subjects themselves.

Is witchcraft a religion? How do you wish to define religion? Most people would agree that these kinds of organizations are pagan, and without God, but they do appear to hold preference for Greek/Roman style gods, godesses, and demi-gods.

Your questions get tougher and tougher as they increasingly appeal to definitions and morality (i.e. good and bad), so I'll simply give you my opinion based on my experience with these individuals. They prefer small, secretive, isolated worship, thus more closely fitting the definition of cult, except that they seem to prefer more individual, decentralized structures (i.e. no leaders or indoctrination). A female friend testified that at the highest levels, she was required to not only denounce Jesus Christ, but declare an eternal war against Him and His followers; she was unable to do this and received all manner of "curses" and "hexes" from her "friends" because of this. They have very active imaginations and love sensational events and conspiracy theories. The Golden Rule of Reciprocity appears to be the crux of their morality. Good returns for good deeds, and evil for evil. They love all that defies the Laws of Nature, and most of them appear to hate Jesus Christ with a passion (for reasons quite incomprehensible to me). I believe that their magic is no more than schizophrenia, perceiving things which are unreal as if they are in fact real, and that this is mentally very unhealthy.

In short, I would say that witchcraft is a bad and offers no lasting good. My investigations of these traditions have been unhealthy for me. If you decide to proceed, please exercise great caution as the mind is a terrible thing to waste or to lose control of.

The book of enoch helps. Angels, lusted after women. Azazel and 200 came to earth, has relations. Men that were giants were born. The angels taught them powers using herbs, enchantments, astrology..etc. The angels were damned. I think the knowledge they gave wound up being called witchcraft and we are not supposed to use it....according to God

If God says that rebellion IS witchcraft. Thus witchcraft is rebellion against God and all His establishments.

If God says its bad, it's bad. No matter what man says it is, God is the final authority.

Not good nor bad. I like to think of it as ridiculus, although I'm sure it must provide hours of entertainment for people that try it.
