All according to what you want. If you want all newest safety features and pollution control not to mention sinful power from such a small block the new ones. They also depreciate tremendously. For a classic ride and look at a relatively inexpensive price the classics are best . Be careful how you define classics. For me, 641/2 to 1973. They have a steady value although right now they're following the general trend of down. This happens. Even an old man like me gets second looks in them though, and I really know its just the car ! Your best bet would be to buy the hottest 'Stang you can afford, store it under cover and on blocks and wait 30 years. Brock Yates in Car and Driver rec commended this on a Plymouth Super bird about 30 years ago. Car was 10000 dollars then .About 250000. now if you can find one for sale. Think about it !

New ones. Safety is the first reason why I would never own one. Braking, Handling just sucked and now with all the power the new ones have the old ones just can not keep up. The old ones that can are way to expensive for you or me to afford.

I have a 65. The new models are sharp but, the older Mustangs are just too cool.

Both are great. I have an 89. My aunt has a 96 and they are both about the same. Mine's a little faster but that's about it. I have a 5.0 and she has a 4.6.
