Jay is correct. Although there is no actual Morse Code being transmitted by the device...what you are hearing is the actual rf(radio frequency) energy being transmitted and the other devices in close proximity due to poor sheilding and construction tend to allow this stray energy to enter into their delicate front ends (the place where signal processing takes place). Only way to avoid this is to not operate the phone close to any other receiving object. Keep in mind that the cellphone is really a radio transmitter/receiver. Although it is low power....waaay less than one watt...it still radiates energy.....at the same frequencies as your microwave oven.........
Hope this helps..
Mike

what you're hearing is the cell phone transmitting. even tho they're microwave frequency...they still tend to mess with audio amplifiers, tv/computer monitors and other real sensitive electronics, espically anything opeating anywnere NEAR the band.
