One day, you are going to have a son/daughter, just ask yourself this: would you want them coming home and saying, "Dad, I'm pregnant/I got a girl pregnant!" What would you say to them? Would you be all proud of them and congradulate them, or would you tell them to get out? I've taken two RESPECT classes, and there are over 100 known STD's! Are you sure that you want to tell you're signifigant other, "Oh yeah, I forgot to tell you. When I was 18, I had sex, and gave her clamidia, aids, and also HPV. I also have genital warts in my throat because of our "safe/oral sex." Do you think that would be a joyous moment?

There are people who have the will and self control to wait until they are married. Both my husband and I married as virgins. We were each others' first and only. There is too much emotional baggage that comes with having sex with others before you are married. There are regrets for a lot who do that. I didn't want any regrets and my husband had always wanted to wait until he was married for religious reasons, as did I. And the whole thing about "practice makes perfect", trust me you don't need practice. It will come naturally.

I would tell my daughters to at least wait until they are in love. I'm not talking about puppy love; I'm talking about honest to God true love. I waited until I was in love (not married). We've been together since a month after I turned 17. I would want my daughters to hold off as long as possible because one 1 reason; the fertility rate in my family. I can't tell you how many women in my family who have gotten pregnant while on birth control. I was one of them. both of my daughters are bc babies. I'm going to make damn sure my girls know that in this family, birth control seems to only have a 30% chance of working...lol

No for the basic fact so many couples live together without being married these days. In this ever changing fast paced world waiting till marriage is reserved for a few old fashioned types, look how many young couples have sex in high school and college and that tells you alone it is unrealistic for many.

Until 100 years ago, people got married when they were 13. That's why they were able to stay virgins until they were married. Now people don't get married until they are 25 or 30. You shouldn't torture yourself like that for that long. Have sex as soon as you feel like it.

I guess that really depends on the person. At first, when I was your age, I thought for sure I would wait until I was married. Even though my friends were starting to have sex. But as I got older and I thought about it, sex isn't something as sacred as it used to be. I'm not saying that's a bad thing. As long as you love that person, I think it's your decision. In today's world I think it is a lot harder for young people to wait until marriage. I didn't have sex until I was 20 and my boyfriend was 21, so we both waited for that special person. Like I said... what's right for somebody else, isn't always right for you. Kudos for at least wanting to wait until your 18. I'm willing to bet you'll be more ready emotionally. And if something were to happen like pregnancy then you'll probably be more financial stable. Just think about it and find out what's right for you and please, please, please, don't let anybody talk you into something you don't want to do. Remember, you have to live with the decisions you make in life. Good luck in finding the "right" answer.

I think that it's alright to have sex when you are emotionally and financial ready. So in case you do end up having a baby then at least you'll be prepared for it. And please make sure that you do it with someone that you love and care about and make sure that that person feels the same about you to. Otherwise you could be stuck in a rough situation.

Parents are always telling kids to wait intell they get married because it is the right thing to do. Every kid doesn't even wait intell they are 17 to have sex so I say if you are not going to wait then protect your self.

I mean, I'm 13 right now, so I can't be sure about everything, but I plan on waiting.
