I didn't know about this in the USA, but yes, I will wear one now that I understand its significance.
I like that it is a genuine remembrance and not a political statement. Human gratitude and compassion!

Yes sir, I am wearing a poppy...I've been wearing one for about a week now. Lest We Forget & Support Our Canadian Troops...Death To George Bush Though! That Back woods weaselly f-u-c-k-er is the only reason our troops are over there in the first f-u-c-k-ing place.

Poppy's ( a small orangeish/red fake flower) are sold by veterans of war around veterans day to raise funds and awareness of veterans. They usually ask for a small donation in exchange for your Poppy.Generally it's kind elderly veterans doing the Poppy sale in front of a local supermarket.

If I see someone selling, I'll definitely buy a poppy and wear one. Seems like there's few people around to sell them these days, though. It's a nice program...always brings a smile to my face when I do see veterans selling them, and I like to give something.

please explain. what is the poppy for?

how can you give someone a thumbs down for asking sincerely? that seems rude. I really don't know. In America, it may mean something completely different. I answered to make a connection, not be judged as ignorant.
