Yes, you need to be 18 or he can get in big trouble. But as for the age difference it is a bit much. I was 18 and he was 25 and that ended real bad. I grew up and he never did. It is real different if you were 27 and he was 37; you have lots of time to date, try someone closer to your own age.

The Law certainly frowns upon it. I would have to say at 17 one does not possess the maturity to maintain a romantic relationship of this sort. I dont know why 18 and 17 are so different but in the eyes of the law they are. I would reccomend putting this relationship on the back burner until you are of legal age. This will prevent any legal problems for your boyfriend.

In my country is not illegal for a young girl to date a older guy. it's not illegal because when the girl is dating she is looking for security and thinking about a serious relationship. Dating a older guy is a good idea, but you need to make sure your family will aprove and make sure the guy is not trying to take advantage of you.

YES! 17-year-old girls and 27-year-old guys are in totally different places in life and definitely should not be in a relationship!
