Yes it is extremely important, because if you don't then you are a liar, and it is written:

Rv:21:8: But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, AND ALL LIARS, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.

Therefore don't make promises you can't keep, It is better not to promise anything, but to say " If the Lord willing, i will ....... ..... ..... "

I have been depressed... I keep it all to myself and I don't tell anyone...

Well, it's really up to you, whether you can live with yourself after breaking your word. It's a question of self respect. And good judgement too, because there are bad promises that are better broken, such as turning in friends or loved ones battling with alcoholism, drug addiction, etc. in order to help them.

I think it's important to keep promises it allows people to trust you it's not always easy to keep promises but try your best and if you can't a lest you tried i know that person will understand.

Don't make promises you can't keep.

If you break a promise, it shows lack of integrity and reliability. It's kind of like lying to people. So, yes, it's important to keep a promise.

There are,however, emergencys and such that may interfere or whatever.
