In most cases, she should be at least two. Wait until she expresses an interest, and then it won't take much training. My daughter asked me, "Mommy, will you teach me to use the potty?" She was 2 years and 9 months old, and it was so easy--I just showed her how the toilet and tp worked and that was it!

My daughter was about 15 months old when she started potty training, but I have heard that around 2 is when most kids start hinting around that they are tired of diapers. You will know when your daughter is ready to start when she starts pulling her diapers off and takes an interest in finding out what you do on the potty. Often, a child who is around older children will show interest earlier than a child who is by his/herself. Encourage her to follow you to the bathroom and explain that you are going "pee pee" or whatever you're doing. Get a kid potty for her and let her sit on it while you do your business. It won't take long before she understands. BEST OF LUCK TO YOU!!!!

Your daughter will give you hints. If she wakes with a dry diaper, put her on the potty chair first thing every morning, even if you have to put it front of the TV. If that works then the next step.... bribery works. Keep her favorites (m&m's or gummies) in a jar and ONLY when she uses the bathroom successfully do you give her one....thru-out the rest of the day. Don't forget, you have to train yourself to ask her every hours or so if she needs to use the potty. Little kid's will forget.

Baby girls ussually let you know when they are ready--they no longer want to wear a diaper-i bought a potty and would actually put it in the room where she spends most of her time so that she would not feel she was interrupting her normal routine until she became used to going on her own--she showed interest at 20 months but it actually took about 4 months for her to start going on her own and in the bathroom now--so she will let you know when she wants to wear "big girl underpants"

on average its around the summer closest to her 2nd b'day....she will show you signs when she is ready.....make a bit of a game of it....when you decide to start try taking her to the potty every 20min and then slowly stretch it out once she gets the drift......if does does anything in the potty...laugh, clap, dance and make a it a big thing like rewarding her....then she will be interested in continuing.....never scold her for an accident....it takes patience and its a good idea to stay home for a couple of days.....have fun...

The easiest and least stressful for all parties involved is definately letting her decide when and and what pace. She'll have great days with no acidents and then she'll have 5 the next day. until they are a bit older they don't truely "get It". And please do what YOU want. Don't listen to friends and family who say,"Well my daughter was trained at 9 months!".
