I believe that man is neither inherently good, nor inherently evil. I cannot prove it, but I can provide strong evidence.
First of all, humans are capable of both good and evil. I can prove this. Look around you and you'll see people that are behaving well and others that are being evil in the way they treat others. Sometimes, you will notice that a single person will sometimes behave in a good way, and will sometimes commit evil acts.
The fact that people do commit good and evil proves they are capable of both good and evil. I would say that since people are capable of both good and evil, you have evidence that they are neither inherently good nor inherently bad.
I believe this supports the idea that human beings have free will. We are not robots that have been programmed to be all good or all bad.

All humans, men and women are inherently good, as evil does not exist and is no more an arbitrary thing than darkness. But, they chose to ignore the good at times. A lack of good leaves evil behind, just as the lack of light leaves darkness.

I believe that man is inherently born self-serving. Many see this as evil.
Say what you might, but you put your will into self-serving your ego every day....in everything you do. This is true. Its called psychological egoism and you can find out about it in any ethics class.
Man will always look out for himself before looking out for others. Taking care of others is what is often deemed "good," but that always takes second seat to serving yourself first, which is often deemed "bad".
Even when looking out for others, you are serving yourself first. You see a homeless person and give him money. You may justify that you did it all for the homeless person, but egoism states that you did it to feel better about yourself and to have that homeless person see you as a good person. Any act can be placed in this realm.
Heres one that will touch home, even worshipping God. You don't worship god to be, and act, like a good person. You worship god to impress him, and make yourself stand out among the others, offering yoursalf a place in eternal heaven. If that isn't egoistic, then I don't know what is.
So man => self-serving; putting own desires before the desires of others. This is inherently evil.

Man is born into sin. Man is not born either good or evil. Through Jesus we receive freedom from the bondage of sin. We choose the path we take when you are taught right from wrong, good or evil. This can be proven, consider yourself and the choices you've made in life.

Q: >>> is man inherently good or evil? <<<
A person is neither inherently good nor inherently evil. But we are being tested by God putting us in this flesh which inherently desires to satisfy itself, and puts us on a planet that is filled with evil, to which satan is the God of this planet. Therefore in doing this, putting us in the flesh and putting us on the Earth, He will weed out those who do not want to worship Him, but would rather worship satan by obeying him.
A person owns three thousand dogs on his property, and his wife is pregnant about to have a baby, now the owner does not want any dogs that bite, but only desires to have those dogs that will not bite, because he does not want to take the chance any of his dogs biting his child. What better way to test each of the three thousand dogs, then to put them in the barn which contains hundreds of cats, for a predetermined time, to see which ones will bite and he will get rid of them, and which ones will not bite, to keep on his land.
We are put in this flesh, and on this planet filled with satan and demons to see who will obey only God, who will walk the walk, who will be Truly Saved, and the others He will cast into outer darkness, because they refused to follow the ways of righteousness, but had pleasure in sins.
In His Holy and Precious Name, Jesus Christ

everyman is born with a clean slate, it the factors surrounding us that shape who we are really going to be. for instance, if someone was born in a royal family, he or she might end up been a ruler, rather than a servant.. No man is born Evil or good!

man is born good, i questioned it before, but look into a babys eyes and tell me you see evil, its when we are put into masses that we become evil... like the great armies of ancient times, school, or fraternities, thats when news words come into play along with prejudice, choosing sides, and pissing people off

the spirit (that is the true man) is inherently good, the flesh (our earthsuit) is of the world, and is therefor evil. when we reach the age of accountablility, when we learn what is good and what is evil, yet choose evil regardless, it is then that we need forgiveness.

Creation of Man
It was clay and water with which God created Carl Sagan, the seed of living beings and among living beings, God created man. With an independent self, to put him in the test and to see, how he responds independently to the Commandments of The God, The Lord Almighty.
It was a perfect creation, with a perfect free discretion. God blessed him with a female to raise tribes and generations and to spread them on the earth and to address them always through The Lords messengers. God ordained for him and for his dependents a day of judgement and created heavens of his own choice and hells against his choice. So, O the Mankind! Always choose Gods will to be safe, because between God and you there is no one to affect the judgement of your Lord.
Listen to the Lord! All the tribes, generations and people. God blessed you with freedom of choice and captured you from the top of your head after your creation. God ordained death to declare the end of the test. Nothing is like this but the test ordained for you by your God, The All Able Lord.
Evil men and women always attempt to gain prosperity through negative decisions. That’s why; they commit sins and break the law__ of course, all wrong. The book of their deeds is the record of their life___ and is nothing but evil and evilish (devilish) acts. These men and women will gain nothing but loss here and hereafter.
Righteous men and women always attempt to gain prosperity through positive decisions. That’s why they commit good deeds, follow all kind of laws of humanity and are not a hindrance for anyone. The book of their deeds is the record of their life___ by the will of the Lord___ good deeds. These men and women will gain prosperity by the will of the God__ Our Lord, here and hereafter.
God created everything, the whole universe and then created ‘you’ and gave you the knowledge of good and bad. So do good, because God wants you to do good to meet the good of God.
