If your tonsils hurt, where would that be exactly? Like in your throat nearest to your head or near where your neck connects to you chest. Right under my adams apple close to where my neck connects to my chest is where it hurts the most!! Ive had a sore throat condition 2 times since july and so i go to the doctor and get some amoxicilin to get it to go away, but could this lead to getting them taking out or is this just myself healing up this sorer throat condition? Any ideas?

Your tonsils are the two round things that you can see, where your mouth meets your throat. For your reference, the piece that hangs between them is called a uvula. Often, an infection of the tonsils can be detected visibly, if you use a flashlight to look at your throat thru your mouth...The tonsils will be red, inflamed, and often will be covered with pockets of pus (sorry for the unfortunate visual!).

Generally, before anyone recommends removing these, you would have "chronic" tonsil infections. It is entirely normal to have a sore throat, or infected tonsils, on an occasional basis. Having them removed is a fairly extreme step, done only when the antibiotics don't take care of the problem. Two occurrences is generally not enough to make the doctor want to operate.

Well tonsils are above the adams apple at the very back of the throat.if they are swollen you would not be able to see down your throat. i would look like this o!o only the o's(tonsils) touching. the ! would be the uvula.

Below the adams apple would probably be your lymph nodes which are also under your arms and in your groin area. If they are swollen that means your body is fighting off an infection. if you are so concerned go get it checked.
