If she lied , it was very likely to cover up the real reason , which she didn't want to reveal

Why do any of us lie? Being a Mom, she probably was trying to protect you from the truth that she felt you could not handle. Forgive her!, death is very personnel and we all handle it the best way we can.

well i dont know, what exactly did sh esay about it, did he actually die or did she lie about how he died?
she may have thought that by not telling u the truth she was protecting you. or she could be like my mother was...
she would say horrible stuff to me about him to hurt his feelings because she hated him for getting a divorce!!!!
but more than likely your mum was trying to protect you from something for some reason and only she can tell you why she lied

I dont know the facts, but i would say more than likely she lied just to save you from the pain of knowing the truth.......parents do whatever it takes to protect their children

To spare you from some kind of pain. Moms do things to assist the kids. Ask her or ask someone who knows.

they lie about those things for good reasons. and im pretty sure its for your own sake.
