paganism is a huge thing, it simply means anyone not believing in the biblical god, so buddhists, shinto, native american religions, native african religions, aboriginal austrailians, eskimos, as well as wiccans and the followers of the ancient viking traditions are pagan, so which sort of pagan do you want to be? there are thousands of books out there. drop me a line if you want more info. Blessed Be.

It would be good to read some books from the store and find a branch that you're comfortable with. remember, alot of the things that you read online are going to be untrue, since many people don't understand what Paganism is about. Quite frankly, its about finding yourself comfort and something that you are comfortable. There are a few things to remembe though.
1.) Wicca requires no blood shed of any kind.
2.) You should never have to do anything that you are not completely comfortable with
3.) Reading the Wiccan Rede will help you with alot of your questions.
And always remember "An' it harm none, do as ye will."
The final and most important line of the Wiccan Rede.

The catholic church pretty much put an end to paganism- by equating it with devil worship (which was far from the truth) and attacking it's religious leaders as witches.
From what I have read- it was a reasonably beautiful religion, steeped in traditions based upon nature and the seasons. Hardly devil worship.
There is a movement to bring back Wicken - which I think is related. Try looking that up.

What paganism? General paganism or one of the religions within paganism? You chose a very VERY broad question.
Anything that isn't Christian, is Pagan.

I am a Christian, but I might still be able to help!
Perhaps you should get into a pagan's group on the net.Maybe you could get sneaky and find some pagans in you community that might be willing to help.(They are every where they are just hard to find. Most just want to avoid conflict inspired by religious discussions ,judging buy the pagan kids I know. They don't get open unless you slide in respectful, light questions.)Be open minded, and have fun!
