I am obsessed with becoming what I think is perfect. I am afraid if I start exercising then I will become completely obsessed with it and I may end up hurting myself. I dont have the money for a personal trainer. What should I do to be less obsessed, not with loosing weight, but being perfect in general.

Anytime you concentrate on one area of your life, another suffers, so perfection is an impossibility. You can still strive for it, but you have to accept that the best you can do is all you can do, and that it is probably enough to make you great.

You need to decide what qualities are important to you (and what you can neglect) and pursue bettering yourself those areas. Even in those areas though, realize that that they are only part of being a whole person, and that the more time you spend perfecting one area of your life, the less perfect other things will become.

Decide what you want and how much you want--set reasonable goals and work to get them.

First of all, realize that its impossible to define PERFECT. Is Paris Hilton perfect? In some peoples eyes she may be pretty, but she is also viewed as stupid, shallow, and I'll even say slutty.

So just know that you cant be perfect because it doesnt exist. And if you want to get in shape, set a maximum time that you can work out per day or week and stick to it.

There is no such thing as the perfect person, no matter how hard you try. It sounds like you have obsessive compulsive disorder. Try seeking psychiatric help to determine why you feel that you are obsessed with being perfect.

When it comes to perfect health...all we can do is try. Remember, we weren't made to live forever, anyway. What they tell you to eat/do for good health today will be taboo tomorrow.
P.S. I think perfect might exist in Heaven, but not here on Earth.

You should see a therapist to see why you have this compulsion to be perfect.

Being "perfect" is not what life is about.

You should definitely see someone.

(I mean this in the nicest way possible)

Then you will have a terribly disappointing and joyless life ahead of you. I advise that you relax and learn to love yourself, flaws and all.
