About a month ago, my dad slashed the side of my face with a knife. As you guys can probably tell, he used to abuse me, but don't worry... he can't hurt me anymore. He was arrested for abuse around the same time i showed up to school with a stab wound on the side of my face. Everyone kept asking questions and soon the truth became public knowledge (mostly thanks to the lovely article the newspaper printed about it). I can't deal with everyone knowing and constantly talking about me, so i'm in the process of moving in with my best friend who lives in a little town in Colorado. This is a very small town, so if one person (other than my best friend) finds out, the whole town is going to know.
I really want to make a fresh start and not be know as the abused girl anymore. So, any ideas on how to make the scar go away, or at least less prevalent? Or... any believable stories that could explain away my scar to anyone who asks? I would greatly appreciate any help you can offer

Sorry to hear about your ordeal, There are all kinds of creams to help, but I have used for a c-section scar was that sun screen lotion with he baby getting his shorts pulled down by the dog. Sorry I can't remember the name. It works wonders, my ob told me about it.

As far as a story you could just say something like you fell on some glass, or was in a car accident. Idk. good luck

Say it was a motorcycle accident. You were riding with a friend wrecked and landed on a tree branch. Makes you sound adventurous. You might as well have fun with it. You've been through enough bad stuff.

Go ask a pharmasist on cream to reduce the appearance of scars. They'll know which one works the best.

Good luck with your new life!

Depends on the scar. If you have deep scars then you can do a laser treatment like Fraxel which will 'damage' your skin to make it grow and regenerate. If they are very superficial scars and only ont he surface then you can use a AHA or glycolic peel, or a light treatment where they shine a light over you face and then the top layer of your skin will come off, or you can use other laser treatments like Medlite which will encourage cell turnover for superficial acne scars. I have deep acne scars and even though you are recommended 5 sessions of Fraxel, I had one session and use an AHA cream, and my scars are become much more shallow and my pores have shrunk considerably. I highly recommend it for deep acne scars.

I had an accident about 40 years ago which left a 5 inch scar on my left cheek (face) and had to put up with all the teasing and name calling.
I told anyone who asked that it was an accident, now most people do not see it or if they do they don't mention it.
Once it starts to heal it will fade.
No one else needs to know the truth.

Good luck.

Don't know about the diminishment of the scar, but for a story about how you got it. How about you were horseback ridding and the saddle strap broke and you fell face first into a barred wire fence. This does happen because I did just that when I was younger.
Good luck and stay strong!!

After 8 surgeries, I have had a lot of practice reducing scars. I found that vitamin K cream works wonders! It is sold at most drug stores under the name VitaK. It may say for bruises or spider veins, or blotchy skin, well they ALL work on scars. Sometimes beauty outlets carry the vitamin k cream as well.

Go down to CVS or Walgreens and get this Scar reduction cream (I forget what it's called), but they do have it, you dont need to get it from a Dr. Then if anybody notices, tell them it was from a freak hunting accident and you would rather not talk about it....Good luck with your new life

there are some medical procedures that can help you. there are some lotions that will slowly get rid of the scar. you should probably talk to a plastic surgeon.

they have scar reducing ointment you can get through a doctor. until then you can tell them the valiant story of how you fought off 2 knife wielding "would be" robbers that were harassing an old lady.
