No one knows for sure. God placed Adam in the garden and we have no idea how long he was in there before they ate the forbidden fruit and were exiled. We can go backward, according to Bible chronology to about when Adam left the garden, over 6,000 years ago. The Bible says that Adam and Eve were created on the sixth creative time period but again, we don't really know how long that was or the time span in between entering and leaving the garden.

Read Genesis Chapters 1-4 of the Bible. It's mentioned there that Adam was created on the 6th day of God's creation of Earth and man.
