Wash your hair, lightly towel dry it and apply a good setting lotion to your hair and then set your entire head of hair with medium sized rollers about 3/4" - 11/2" diameter depending on length of your hair these should create nice sized curls in your hair
either let your hair air dry this can take between 3 -6 hours depending on thickness and length of your hair or dry with a bonnet dryer 30 -60 Min's
You could also set your hair at night and pit a tight net over your rollers to sleep in them, so that you will have nice curls in the morning ( my mum does this )
Also try to use magnetic or plastic mesh type rollers as you will obtain better results compared to foam and Velcro rollers

It depends on what kind you have. I do pagents and i have three different kinds. If you have the ones that are squishy it depends on how curly you want your hair and how long you want it to stay. I put them in a couple of hours before an event that would last 3 hours and it was fine. If it's an all day thing I put the curlers in the night before and sleep on them. The next morning just pull them out 25-30 min. before you step out and apply some kind of hairspray or curl spray.

I usually wet my hair the night before I go to bed and put some little conditioner in on my ends. Don't let your hair be too wet or the curls wont dry in. In the morning when you are out of bed take the curls out and shake your head and you'll have pretty curls!

try pop cans or toilet paper tubes instead for those big waves. leave the "curlers" for the tight curls and top. Maybe invest in a curling iron, learn how to safely use it and save time.

The STEAM ones work great...... curl really lasts.
Big curlers for loose curls with body.
Medium curlers make curls, but not ringlets.
Small curlers make ringlets.

Your hair is meant to get stuck between the clip and the roller. Your wind it up in route of your head, and then you slowly and softly unwind it after preserving it in position for some seconds. when you've unwound the completed wand from the curl, launch the ends of your hair from between the clip and roller.

If you want them looser then take bigger pieces of hair and keep them in for only about 25 minutes. Spray some hairspray on every single on when you take it out to make sure it doesn't come out of its shape.

Use larger ones for larger, less curl. Smaller for tight. See if you can borrow to try...Assuming you are asking about hot rollers.
